June 16th Surgeries - Check in

Well it's three weeks today and other than getting tired easier than usual I am feeling great.

I'm getting 64-100 ounces of fluids in a day

I'm able to eat 1/2 cup of most purees.  Tuna and eggs don't sit very well with me sometimes though.. Not sure why.  I can get about 1/3 cup in of those and I am done.

I found a really yummy supper.. Trader Joe's chicken, asiago, artichoke patties.  They are 200 calories for one patty - 4 ounces.  I take 1/2 of one and put it in my magic bullet and add a bit of sugar free spaghetti sauce (about 3 Tablespoons)  It is delicious and has 10 grams of protein!

Since my pre-op physical I have lost 26 pounds!  I am amazed at how good I feel.

How are you all doing?

Dr. Benn gave me an incredible tool.. and I intend to make the most out of it!!

Yup, I also get tired a little easier than usual.  Of course, I'm also eating about 4-500 calories a day.  I am getting about 60 grams of protein a day.

I'm not doing as well as you on fluids.  I can drink better in the morning, but once it's about 3 p.m., I'm done.

Nothing tastes all that good to me.  Or the taste is good, but swallowing it - not so much.

I'm down a total of 24.8 pounds, and I am moving tons better.  Physically, I feel a lot better - almost back to my normal flexibility.

I haven't lost any weight for 5 days, so I figure I'll drop some soon.

While the weight loss is easier with surgery, the lifestyle is harder.

OK, I had my surgery 6/17 but REALLY wanted to check in with someone :^)

Eggs are way too hard (though tonight i am going to try egg salad - see if that is better) I mostly have protein drinks, cottage cheese, yogurt, fruit, mozzarella cheese, tofu/soups - I eat like a vegetarian as I can't handle meat.  i do have some fish though.

I have lost 27.5.....and I worry i am slowing down on my weight loss (will this weight obsession ever end? Oy!)...but I can see we 3 are all close so I guess i am in the normal range.

I can eat about a third of a cup of most things - but i did discover wet mozzarella goes down easily - and I had a few backed lays chips with it and wham! I was eating too much....so have to stay away from that.

Other than that, my pouch is keeping me at 400 to 600 calories a day. Sometimes less sometimes more. And I feel good - except when I try solid food. So waiting on most of that.

Thanks for the trip about the patties - they sound good!
