2nd Homecoming after 2nd surgery!
Hi Everyone-
I wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers while I was inpatient for the last few weeks. I was admitted June 20th, and just got home today. I was in for acute gallbladder, liver, and pancreas problems. It took a while for them to decide to do surgery the second time on me because it was so close to the 1st surgery. My surgeon told me today that I was the 2nd out of 1500 patients to get their gallbladder out within the month of their RNY, and I was the 1st one to have it out without having any gallstones. So it is still a mystery as to what actually happeneed, but end case-I needed to get that thing out. They tried to do it laproscopically, but because of the adhesions of the 1st surgery, they were unable. Which means I am in a LOT of pain. I have about an 8 in*****ision under my rib cage, and there is no movement that I can make without remembering I had surgery last sunday. I read my post from last week, and I can tell I was really drugged at that point! But I also remember just sitting there and falling asleep while someone was talking to me.
So, again, it is still up in the air as to if the RNY was worth all of this. I know, eventually, with my family history I was going to end up with my gallbladder out, but spending an extra 2 weeks in the hospital was not expected. I feel like 2 weeks of life were just plucked away, I have no idea what happened to them! But I do know now that whenever I call my Dr's office, they are going to listen to me, and not make me feel like a crazy person.
I can't thank my husband and family enough for all they have done for me. My husband stayed with me all but one night, lived off hospital food, and helped me get up every time I needed too. He got no sleep, put up with my crankiness, neediness, and mood swings. I am the luckiest person in the world.
And thanks again for all of you who prayed with us. It was an incredible hard time for us, and it was nice to hear how supportive we can be for each other!

Sorry to hear that you had to go through all of that. I started having pancreas issues too the week after surgery, but luckily was able to nip that before it got serious like yours. My dr actually takes the gallbladder out during surgery. Luckily, I got mine out a few years ago. I can not imagine going through that this close to having a RNY. You are a super trooper! I'm sure surgery doesn't at all feel worth it for you at this point, but I guess think of this time next year how healthy you will be and full of energy. (That's what I have to do on my tough days!)
