June 29th!!!
I've been an emotional wreck though! Is anyone else having problems too? lol I'm so excited but then I'm so nervous! Also I start my liver shrinking diet on the 19th. So I'm worried I'm gonna fail myself by not sticking to just liquids.... especially cause my birthday falls on the 26th. lol
Hi! We have the same date for our new birthday! I have had my date for a few weeks now but the closer we get the more excited I am getting as I'm sure its the same way for you.
My liquid diet is only 2 days and so I feel for you however know that you will do just fine. Have faith in yourself and you can conquer anything! You want to listen to your doctor, of course, but just a side note....I read on the RNY boards that a surgeon said that if you have a large liver it doesn't stop them from getting in there and getting the job done, that they have a tool that literally moves it out of the way. This surgeon said that if your pre-dispositioned to have a large liver that a week or 2 of liquids isn't going to make a dramatic difference. Please believe, I'm not saying to go against doc's wishes but just know that you will do fine and don't worry. You'll do great and we'll both be sitting pretty on that losers bench! If you want to talk please feel free to message me! Good luck in your journey!
Bygodsgrace
But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
My pre-op is scheduled for the 26th. I will defiantly message you and praying for your speedy recovery!!!! Were on our way to a new life
But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
I start my 2 week protein and vegy and liquids diet Monday. Its interesting the many different types of dieting prior to surgery. I am having the Roux-en-Y surgery tho and possibly different than yours.
I am concerned about having the right things at home for when I come home from the hospital and have to start liquid then pureed foods until I start eating soft foods in a few weeks afterwards. I also want to make sure I am getting enough protein and vitamins,calcium B12 in my post op care/diet.
Congratulations on making the choice to take back your life! I feel empowered by this decision!
Its a really good feeling to be in control of something and make decisions that will make me feel better and healthier in the near future!
My prayers are with you for a successful surgery, speedy healing and recovery and a bright Future full of many many happy memories Getting out in the WORLD AND ENJOYING IT!!! Cindy
