June 1st for me. My doc doeesn't require the liquid diet and I kinda wish he had because I am struggling to lose the 10pds he asked for. I guess the grass is always greener....

I am weighing in tomorrow and still need another 2 pounds...we will see. Only liquids for me today :)

So...what is everyone bringing to the hospital and buying for the first 2 weeks home. I am trying to create a list and feeling like I am missing stuff...

thoughts?

June 1st here too! I am on a one week liquid diet though.

What I've bought so far is protein shakes, but not too many since they say your tastes can change, milk (lactaid), vitamins, broth, sugar free popsicles, sugar free jello...that's all I can think of at the moment. I might get some gas x strips if the surgeon says it's ok. I heard those help with the excess gas.

As for what I'm bringing. I'm not completely sure. My computer, there's wireless internet but I don't know how much I'll use it. Some loose pants, brush, book...I'm pretty sure they provide a toothbrush and socks with rubber on the bottom so I don't think I'll bring slippers. hopefully they'll give me a robe because I don't want to walk the floors with an open gown lol. if not I have my own I'll see if I can bring.

other than that everything is still up in the air. it's driving me nuts so I'm trying to get it all figured out asap! I hate being not prepared!

I'm June 1st as well. I went shopping on Tuesday and I was so overwhelmed... I had a shopping list with me, but I just felt like I would forget something or maybe I didn't think of something I'd really need. I just bought was I had in the cart  vitamins, pill crusher, baby food, SF jello, 2 cases of water, and crystal light. My cousin has RNY last July. I plan on going over her house this weekend to ask her what came in handy for her. Right now I kind feel like I'm going through this alone. I hope my cuz has some helpful info.

I am so sorry that you feel alone...please email anytime! I would love to support each other in this.

I am going to shop on Sunday (i know, last min) but will post my list as soon as it's compiled. I am pulling things from other boards too....

Blessing to all of us June babies! We are not alone!

Thanks for writing this post. My surgery is on the 9th and I have been wondering what to bring and have. My surgery is about a 4 hr drive from where I live and will be leaving to go there a week from today and surgery is on Tues. Luckily my sis lives over there so I will have someone to stay with.

I also heard that you can bring your own pj's. Make sure they are really loose fitting though as you will be full of gases etc. But, a person always feels better when they get into their own clothes. Slip on shoes for ride home is helpful and like the previous poster said...a pillow is a must for if you start to laugh or hit potholes etc. 4 hr drive back home...I"m going to have an industrial size pillow with me!
