I've been appoved and have a date.  6/11/09 @ 11:30AM.  Pre-op on 6/9/09 on which I will start my clear liquid diet.  I can't even believe it.  Less then a 2 month process and I had everything done to be approved by my insurance for surgery!  It has gone by so fast and here I am 3 weeks before surgery.  My tummy is turning and my head spining.  I'm so excited.

Can anyone help me with the following issue?
My husband was all gun-ho and supportive when I told him 2 months ago that I was going to start the process to get approved for surgery but today when I gave him the great news about being approved, he was soo negative.  I asked him to help me pick a date to have surgery and he told me that it was my issue and I should choose a date that would be good for me.  He also said that I needed to keep in mind that he only has Tueday's off from work.  I was like what???  So in other words, he can't be there for me unless it's on a Tuesday?  Is he kidding me?  My sister says it might be his way of showing he's worried or concerned since he's not all that in touch with his emotional side.  Could this be true?  I know you all are thinking, "Why don't you ask him?"  If it were that easy I would, but he never wants to share his emotional side with anyone, not even me.  What do you guys suggest I do?

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!   Congratulations! My date is June 11th as well!  Yeahhhhhhhhhhh for us!

Look, my son is the same way as your husband.  When you told him that he just got so scared.  And being one of those men who don't know how to show emotion, he rather act like it's not important to put up his guard.  He has to find a way to show you he's not scared!  When he's scared out of his mind.  So comfort him, don't say I know your scared!!!!!!!!!!
Just comfort him and let him know that everything is going to be alrignt.

Now back to us! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I searched all over for the right vitamines and protein.  Alot of people that I talked to who have had the surgey states that it is very important to take your vitamines and protein.  From what they say if you don't you will be tired all the time, and your hair will fall out.
They say that it's hard, really hard to get the vitamines and protein down after surgery so we need to find the best protein and vitamines.  These are the best I have found and their in GNC;

Nature's Best Perfect Zero Carb Isopure protein powder.  It comes in, Strawberries & Cream,   Mango Peach , Mint Chocolate Chip , banana , and chocolate.  It has 50 grams of protein per serving.

Nature's Best® Isopure Zero Carb -  Liquid protein. Crystal clear Bottled They have 40 grams of protein
Blue Raspberry , Apple Melon,  Mango Peach , and more.  I just chose these.

And  GNC Women's Ultra Mega® Maximum Nutrition Formula vitamines - Chocolate.  It's vitamines in powder form.

 June 11 is my date too!  I think your husband is probably just worried and wasn't expecting things to happen so fast.  Just reassure him that you will be fine and that you need and want his support on THURSDAY......LOL!  Also try to get him involved by sharing your post-operative instructions and tell him you need his help....even if you don't.  You know we have to stoke their egos sometimes.  Good Luck and lets keep in touch!

Thanks you guys!  You have awesome advice.

MsPrincess, thanks for giving me the GNC info.  I think i'm gonna go return my Protein I bought not too long ago and get the Isopure.  It's great to know they have the vitamins in powder form.  I got Centrum silver one a day chewables and those don't taste bad but I think once I run out of those I will try the powder.

As for you MsKim, you are soooo right.  Sometimes we have to pretend to keep peace in the house.  And this momma likes peace when ever it's available.  LOL.  My husband feels like a champ when he feels needed and usefull.  Now i've notice he's been more affectionate then usual and I'm not even gonna ask him why, but I think hey likes the "cushion" now and wants to enjoy it while he can.  LOL .  I have faith he will come around soon.
