I am going to Coast Memorial in FV, and the 3 Drs there, LePont, Chin and Ali have a Bariatric conference to attend in June.  Guess what??  My date got bumped.  My surgery date was strategically set for 6/15, when the kids w/be out of school and now the date got bumped- I was offered 6/1 or mid July.  Since I am a teacher, I wk through 6/11 (so that blows 6/1 out of the water), so I settled for 7/20/09.
Even though I was so nervous and stoked about 6/15 coming up, bumps in the road like this make me doubt my decision- I'm afraid all this waiting is going to make me lose my nerve and I am going to chicken out!!!
Please, help me reaffirm my decision ladies!!

Hey there! I just checked out your profile. You are so beautiful. You can't give up now! You have come too far to turn back. I won't lie I would be very upset with this delay but look at it this way "it is still going to happen" Don't give up because if you do you will still be sitting here this time next year except you will be sorry that you didn't go through with it. I know how you feel . I am a teacher too and I purposefully planned my surgery for the 15th of June. I have been waiting since November though and if I had to wait a little longer I would because you know it will be worth it! Hang in there!

Thank you Brandi - your words help alot.  When is your date, 6/15?  If so, are you doing the pre-op diet and how is that going?

Don't give up! You made it this far because you knew it was something you wanted to do. If you had to same hoops to jump though as I did, you had to be dedicated to the process. Just look at this extra time as a way to prepare better. Research more and plan. Don't give up!

Hey Jess,

You are right; it also gives me more time for my pre-op diet. Thank you for your encouraging words,

Hi! I was just doing a search for people who are having surgery about the same time as me and saw your post. Just keep positive. You have come a very long way to stop now! Trust me, I am plenty of nervous! I am the person who literally walked out of a surgery to have a tooth pulled! lol. All kidding aside, just look at what you will gain! I have posted on my page a non fat bucket list on some things that I want to do. Read that if you want, it may help you look at the big soon to be smaller pic! Good luck and keep in touch!

Hey there!  When is your date?  I like that - the non-fat bucket list.  I have something similar on my profile - ex. being able to sit and cross my legs, being able to sit in a plastic chair and not take it with me attached to my behind when I leave, etc.  Thanks for your good vibes!

Hi! My big day is 6-1-2009!!!!! I am keeping a photo journal and regular journal for my new adventure!!! Yeah I hate that whole chair stuck to your rear thing lol. I mean how embarrasing!! lol It is so hard to be cool and when you have to ask the person with you, hey, can you pull that chair off my rear lol. Good luck to you and please keep in touch!!!!

Wow - how exciting!! How are you doing on your pre-op diet??  When did you start yours?  I am starting mine next week - basically meal replacement shakes and plenty of water.
Take care!

Hi! I started mine the last week in April. I am doing okay, although I am still hungry in the pm. But I am just getting in as much protein as possible. I just have a hard time getting the water in. I have also started trying to get some exercise in so we will see at the end of the week what I weigh. I feel I have lost more inches though.
