I'm in the beginning stages of researching for the Lap Band and the Gastric Sleeve. I have questions about going into this: Cost, surgeon, and how quick was one to notice weight loss after having either the lap band or gastric sleeve. How long does it take to get the procedure done once one has made up their mind? Thank you!

I have also been burping alot. I'm 2 days shy of 4weeks and have lost 19 lbs losing about a pound everyother day. It seems everyone losses at a different rate. How much have you lost? I'm hoping everything gets easier so we can go in public without worry about burping.

wtg... thats great I am so happy for you.. which surgery did you have the bypass or the band? I just finished all of my testing and classes and now i am just waiting on a surgery date... I am so excited.... I hope I ahve as much luck as you did... best of luck in the futre.. nancy

Hi Marie, I had the Lap-Band surgery on May 27, my 1st fill wasn't until July 2,(3 cc's) , I felt as if I wanted to eat anything I could get my hands on. I went back to my surgeons office on July 9 and he put another 1/2 cc in it. He said that if I still feel HUNGRY all of the time to call and make an other appointment.. He would need to "fill" it under X-ray and get it filled (properly) to where you dont feel this way. By doing this, it will save you 3 fills (visits). I have now lost 36 lbs. in 2 months, I can eat when I want, but not much. It helped me alot. Talk to your surgeon... tell him how you feel, tell him to fill it up more, you should have 'some' restriction. hope this helps, dont get discouraged. Sue
