Topic: Costs of fills--
Hi everyone,
I had read a post regarding the costs of fills. I called my bariatric center today and found out its between $60-$65.00 for each fill. They bill my insurance and then bill me what they dont cover.
I know I had read on here where there where places it cost $150.00 and more. So, I was pretty nervous when I called this am.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I had thought of the costs for fills. I have a brain disorder and wasnt thinking.....
Have a great day,
Barb
Topic: RE: Support Groups - Raleigh
May I suggest that you call the Bovard Bariatric Center in Wake Forest to see if they have any support group meetings? Dr. Bovard was my original choice for a surgeon but he left the area. He is wonderful by the way! His office number is 919-340-2263. Hope they can lead you in the right direction. Good luck. Deb
Topic: anyone have Intracranial Hypertension/PTC???
Hi.
I am curious if there is anyone here that has this wonderful disease?
Its know as IH orPTC - pseudotumor cerebri. This is a serious neurological disorder in which high cerebrospinal fluild (CSF) pressure within the skull causes unbearable headaches, swelling of the optic nerves, and often results in loss of vision or blindness.
I just wanted to find out if there were others here with this disease.
Thank you very much,
Barb
Topic: RE: RESCHEDULED AGAIN !!!!!
Hi Salena,
I am sorry to hear your surgery has been rescheduled again. But, I always try to think "Everything happens for a reason" its not always easy, but it does make me feel better. I have tried to have that thought with my process of this journey, I started my referral last Feb 2007. My referral was not done when it was suppose to have been. Then the doctors I wanted to go to because they were closer to home, has a longer waiting list then the others in Maine. But, I was having lp shunt surgeries all summer. Although my neurologist felt if I had wls my fluid on the brain would go away or atleast would be in remission. But, the wls doctor didnt feel my medical condition made my surgery important enough to move it up. So, I had to feel that was for a reason. It wasnt easy last year when I was suffering and out of work and hadnt gone to a neurosurgeon. I was upset. But, once I realized there was a surgery that could help me, that I wouldnt lose my job, well, again things happen for a reason. Right? LOL
Yes, you keep getting close, you have a lot to show for it Salena, you re getting prepared for the surgery. Mentally and physically.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Topic: RE: Starting to get nervous....anyone else???
Yes, I am getting nervous. My date is 6-10-08.
Of course I am second thinking this and thinking this is it, I am at this point in my life. I have tried everything else. I have lost large amnts of weight on my own. Kept it off for years once, the second time didnt do so well. Now I have intracranial hypertension, fluid on the brain which makes it even hard to lose weight. Having had 6 surgeries last year, hearing everything here, I know they didnt prepare me for the up coming one. But, the people here have sure been wonderful in sharing and support. In that I know I am making the right decision.
I wish everyone here a speedy recovery...... You are all in my thoughts and prayers!!
