Hi Amber, I got my band the day after you. I would say it's very normal. Right now there is a lot to do. I hear that every day gets better. Think about all of the people you talked with that said, "I would do it again in a second." This helps me realize that this stage won't last. We have just had major surgery and need to give ourselves time to recover and get into the swing of things. I know it will get better.

Hey Sue,
I sure am getting excited and nervous.....
Yes I cant wait to get it over..
Yes special diet of protein shakes, all veggies and fat free dressing and one small meal a day. For two weeks, day before just fluids.
What is yours?
The surgery center I am going to just opened this month, it is a brand new place for out patient surgery. Moved it from the main hospital a another small hospital....lol
Great to hear from you good to talk with someone doing it the same time.
Do you know anything about the journaling? I am only guessing what it is, with a little of an idea..... putting in what I eat, when, the amnt?
Hope you have a great night.......
You are in my thoughts and prayers tooo

Congratulations!
You have come a long way!
I cant imagine brain surgery, I have had a lp shunt put in and have fluid on the brain.
But, thank God, I havent had to have brain surgery yet and I havent had any seizures.
Thank you for sharing and offering support.
I will check out your myspace.

Topic: I'm home!
Hi fellow Junesters. I made it back home yesterday. Overall doing quite well. Just some nausea and pain on the port side. Getting better all the time though. Thanks all with your well wishes. Prayers and good wishes to all the rest of you June ops.

Hi Barb,
It is the laproscopic RNY it is much less invasive than the "open" surgery. The recovery is not as long. I have planned to be out for 1 week due to our office being in transition with executive staff. I have a desk job and my coworkers are very good at stepping up to help me if needed. My family support is ready and willing to make the transition smooth. I can't wait!!!

Well now only five days left to go.. are you getting excited! I can't wait to get this part over. Did you have to be on a special diet for you surgery? How long will you be in the hospital? The hospital here just started doing lap-band this year.
You too will be in my thoughts and prayers!
Have a great day...

Topic: RE: Heart Murmer/Englarged Heart
I have both and I am scheduled for RNY bypass on the 18th of this month. My surgeon made sure I had recent cardiac tests (EKG, Cardiac Ultrasound, & Thallium Stress Test) and I was required to get cardiac clearance for surgery from my cardiologist. My cardiologist was supportive of my decision to have the surgery and gave his blessings.
Good luck and keep us posted.
