From what I hear, heating pads, walking and gas-x are the keys to relieving gas. I have a little bit but not much gas pain. My problem is pain where the port is attached to the muscles. Lap bander, not bypass.

Hi Frank, I had my surgery Monday, June 2, after 10 months of waiting, and I know what you are talking about. I think we have fought for so long, wanting and waiting that our minds can't comprehend that it's actually over. Of course when a major life changing decision is being made you begin to question yourself. But tell yourself to shut up for if you didn't want this you would not have fought for a year, 12 months, 365 days to have it. So stop freaking out, relax and think about how healthy you will be in the next year, 12 months, 365 days.

I would also love to keep in touch and compare notes. My family and I are headed out for vacation this week, so I can use the rest of the summer to recooperate since I am a teacher.

Hi Karen, Since all the people on this board are having surgery this month they probably don't have the experience to help you with your question. You'd probably get a better response on one of the other boards. Maybe your state board or one of the surgery specific boards. Good Luck.
