Topic: RE: 5 days post op-what a journey..
I had my surgery 2 days before you with a pretty similar hospital experience. I was SO thirsty by the time I had the barium test that I sucked the barium down with a straw a little too fast and made myself ill...that was fun ;) Other than that, smooth sailing! I hope you are still doing well! Even 3 days in ICU and some minor complications, I have no regrets either! Tara

Topic: RE: help post op diet
I am surprised that the goal is only 4 per day. I have been on Optifast for about 2.5 weeks now, and it is very hard to be around food, cooking for others etc. But at least the hunger becomes more manageable, the farther into the weeks we get. I guess the good news is that you only have about 9 days of the struggle left. I have to stay on Optifast, and then go on clear liquids the day before surgery which will probably feel much worse than having at least some protein/milkiness in what I am drinking. Hope all gets easier as time goes by.. maybe you could find something exciting to do with your time.. or get some extra pre-op chores done! Time is the biggest enemy for me. Take care, and God bless. Topic: help post op diet
I have been on the post op diet for a week now. my surgery is 7-7 and Monday 6-30 I go on liquids only. This is very hard for me but I can tell that my stomach has gotten smaller. any ideas? Some days I do OK and other days I think I am going to starve to death. HELP,HELP PLEASE . How do you go to just 4 protein shakes a day? Thanks to all my friends @ the support group meetings.

Hello Everyone! Lora did well with surgery and is healing and progressing nicely. She has pain that is well managed and is very excited to see she has a flat belly! Her surgeon did NOT weigh the excess skin he removed so Lora is anxious to get on the scale to get an idea of how much was separated from her nice slim bod! She is well taken care of while at her Mom's house and will post as soon as she is up to it. Please post messages as often as you would like. She needs all the support she can get! Thanks, Jules (JulieN64 - Rhode Island forum)

I am also having surgery here in Oklahoma on the 30th. How is everyone doing on the liquid diet? I'm tired, have a head ache, and the runs... TMI.. I know. I'm excited yet nervous and worried about the pain mostly. Good luck everyone. I'll be thinking of you too. Rebecca in Oklahoma

Well, this is probably too late, but I hope you didn't take the laxative again. I'm sure you are cleaned out already. Cindy

Congrats on the loss. That's a lot! I haven't had my surgery yet. I'm hoping for later in August sometime. Keep up the good work. You deserve to be happy! ~~cindy -- new to this forum
