I have been lurking around the boards for a year. My sister had an open RNY in March 07 with Dr. Marymor. I am scheduled to have a Lap RNY with Dr. Marymor on June 10th. This website is amazing and full of information!

Congratulations! That is my surgery date also for a lap band. Please tell me what is the lap RNY, maybe I have heard it but dont remember. Thought I knew them all....lol Wishing the best and will be thinking of you on Tuesday, I am scheduled to be at the surgery center at 6am and surgery at 730am. Hi Barb, It is the laproscopic RNY it is much less invasive than the "open" surgery. The recovery is not as long. I have planned to be out for 1 week due to our office being in transition with executive staff. I have a desk job and my coworkers are very good at stepping up to help me if needed. My family support is ready and willing to make the transition smooth. I can't wait!!!

Thank you for explaining, thats great that it will be much easier and faster recovery!! I like less invasive I was out of work for 6 last year so I am really hoping I am only out a week for this. I cant believe its so close now. I am getting anxious now, reading the posts. I will be glad when its over I would like to keep in touch if you dont mind? Hey Jane, Boy it is count down time now??? Liquids for me, what about you? I did make it through work today.. I am glad you want to keep in touch, great to have someone to share surgery date with!! :thumpsup: you will probably loss much faster then me but thats ok!! I am right behind you..... I am glad your family is supportive, my daughter and mother is also. I should be out and in recovery by the time you go in tomorrow. So, I will be sending you healing thoughts and prayers!!

HI Jane, I am glad to hear you are home and doing well. Sorry to hear that they had to put if off a day and had to do open bypass surgery. I am glad that it went well for you and you are home walking, sipping!!! I am doing well, better each day! I have actually lost 5lbs and am very happy.
