Heart Murmer/Englarged Heart

I was wondering if anyone out there could help me with this..... I have recently found out that I have a heart murmer and enlarged heart.....Complete surprise when I found out.....Does anyone else have this, and has/had it stopped you from having WLS? I will be having the lap-band procedure... Thank you so much!!!!!

I have both and I am scheduled for RNY bypass on the 18th of this month. My surgeon made sure I had recent cardiac tests (EKG, Cardiac Ultrasound, & Thallium Stress Test) and I was required to get cardiac clearance for surgery from my cardiologist. My cardiologist was supportive of my decision to have the surgery and gave his blessings. Good luck and keep us posted. Sam from Central California

When I went for my clearances (a cardio was required because I was over 40), I found out I have an enlarged ascending aorta in addition to a murmer. I went to a cardio/thorasic surgeon in addition to my cardiologist and both gave me a clearance. They put me on Toprol XL and things went fine. I was banded back in Nov 06.
