Banding 6-10-08

Hi everyone, My surgery date is 6-10-08. I have been reading everyone's posts. I am learning how to get around the website. I want to thank everyone for all the support and kindness the show eachother here, I am so glad I found this site and look forward to being a member here. I hope everyone has a great day. I am not looking forward to the surgery. I had 6 last year for an lp shunt, but I know after all those, I will be fine with this one. Good Luck Barb, I'm Sue from Saranac Lake NY. I'm also having surgery on June 10th, RNY though. I'm on the liquid diet now, its ok but can't wait until this is over. This website has been a godsend, hasn't it. Take care Sue

Thanks Sue! Its so nice to know of someone else having surgery on the same day! I hadnt heard of anyone else and it seemed like everyone was sharing the day. I am happy to share the day with you!! Nice to know someone else is on the liquid diet only too Would you mind being a email buddy? I sure could use someone to share with, you are right this site has been a godsend. Well now only five days left to go.. are you getting excited! I can't wait to get this part over. Did you have to be on a special diet for you surgery? How long will you be in the hospital? The hospital here just started doing lap-band this year. You too will be in my thoughts and prayers! Have a great day... Sue

Hey Sue, I sure am getting excited and nervous..... Yes I cant wait to get it over.. Yes special diet of protein shakes, all veggies and fat free dressing and one small meal a day. For two weeks, day before just fluids. What is yours? The surgery center I am going to just opened this month, it is a brand new place for out patient surgery. Moved it from the main hospital a another small hospital....lol Great to hear from you good to talk with someone doing it the same time. Do you know anything about the journaling? I am only guessing what it is, with a little of an idea..... putting in what I eat, when, the amnt? Hope you have a great night....... You are in my thoughts and prayers tooo Barb

Sue, I am sorry, missed your question how long I will be in the hospital? Hours, yes hours. Its day surgery. Depends on how long they think I need, I could be released as little as six hours after surgery. Where its done with by laposcopy (sp) there is not over night stay or set stay on demand. For my insurance where its considered day surgery, I pay $10.00 copay. At least that was they way my other day surgeries were last year. Hope you have a great day.... 4 days!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Sue, How are you doing? How did you weekend go? I am working today, all liquids today. I didnt sleep well last night, lots of stuff on my mind. Didnt think of taking today off, but then I only want to take what I actually need to take for the surgery.
