HELP ME....PLEASE ..
You start at the beginning again. A lot of the surgeons are having patients go on Pre-op liquid diets. Of course I am not sure I would recommend this for 2 weeks, but to allow you to get control again, 2 or 3 days of protein shakes may be all you need to re-start your program. Just a thought. I am not a doctor, but I don't think it could hurt. You did it once, and I have every confidence that you can continue to do it. There is no stopping this program once you start it. It is a lifetime commitment.
Wow, a loss of 265 is quite an accomplisment. But that also tells me that you had a very high BMI at the start of this process. Re-gain is not entirely your fault - what a lot of WLS centers are finding now is that people w/ high pre-op BMIs do not keep the weight off after RnY - they need the DS - it provides more malabsorbtion and the small sleeve created out of the lesser curvature of the stomach is much less likely to stretch (this is what they told me here in IL at the University of Chicago when they turned me down for the DS - w/ a BMI of just under 40, I'm too skinny, HA!). You should look into getting a revision to a DS or just have your pouch reduced. What ever you do, go back to your original doctor and ask for help - this is a very hard thing to deal with on your own and you won't be the first person they've seen who's regained. If your doc does not do revisions I suggest you look up Dr. John Rabkin in San Fran - check him out at PacLap.com. YOU CAN OVERCOME THIS!!!!
