Surgery on June 25th ? Anyone else?
I just found out last week. It seems like I just got started. Thank you Lord for not letting it drag out. My BMI is high and I now have the challenge of the 2 weeks liquid diet before surgery. I hope some of you have some helpful hints and suggestions to help me through the next two weeks. I notice a lot of you will be having surgery very soon. I know you will all do great. Good Luck to all.

Hi Marilyn, I am having my surgery on June 24. It will come quickly,I hope! It is all very exciting and scary at the same time. I can't wait for that day to be here. Just keep busy each day. I'm sure there are things to get cleaned out where summer is here. We will be talking about losing before you know it. Best of luck...Debbie
Thank you, Debbie. I also wish you well on your surgery. Your advise is very sound and I know I need to stay busy and active. Especially trying to stay on the liquid diet. I am such a compulsive eater that food seems to be gone before I realize I have started eating. I look forward to talking to you about losing.
Blessings,
Marilyn
Thanks for the reply Stella. My BMI is 61. Not the highest, but I would like my procedure to be laproscopic. They feel the more I can take off before surgery the better. I am game. I only have enough time to take 3 weeks off at the most, so I would rather not have an open RNY. This is almost two years coming. I want to be ready. You're right. We can do it!

My surgery date is June 30th. Whew! I am scared, excited and I don't know what else. Been real angry lately and eating everything in sight. I only have to do a liquid diet 24hours pre op. Is this normal. I see you guys do it 2-3 weeks. I want to have the best outcome, so any input would be great! Thanks and good luck to you having surgery the 24th and 25th.

Hi Sue,
Being scared and excited seems to be the norm. After dealing with Cigna for almost a year, I was pretty angry too.
About pre-op. My surgeon asked that I do it because my BMI is so high. So they would like me to lose some weight before hand. My pre-op diet is also supposed to help shrink my liver. No fat or sugar to process, it should get smaller. This way it won't get in the doctor 's way when in surgery. I am on day two and surprised that I have not flogged or killed anyone yet. It has proven to be easier than I thought the first few days would be.
You are going to have a great outcome.
