My surgery date is June 24
I am so happy and scared for this date. I have already been thru surgery 2 years ago have had lapband surgery. My band is not working, it is broken. I have opted to have gastric bypass surgery instead of replacing the band. I was not thrilled with the lapband at all. It was not the right surgery for me, but I feel like I chickened out and went with that surgery. I was nervous about the gastric bypass. Now I am more than ready. can't wait!!!
Congratulations on your surgery date! Mine too is June 24th and i'm so very excited for that day to arrive so I too can start the road to a new life! I chose the gastric bypass over the lapband as I wanted a more permanant tool and felt it was the right choice for me although i'm a bit scared and nervous at the same time. I too am ready and look forward to our journey in the coming months! Good Luck to you!
It is an exciting time for all of us. I am looking forward to a new beginning and will keep in touch with our progress and feelings. I feel that gastric bypass is a good choice, having had the lapband it was not a good choice for me. I need a more permenant tool also. The lapband allowed way to much junk to be eaten, it was not a good tool for me. Good luck!
Hi Debra, If all goes well with my UGI (have to have a biopsy for H pylori next week) we will be having our surgeries on the same day! I had considered the lap band at first, but the more research I did and the more suppport meetings I go to, I want to have the RNY. Its okay to be nervous, I am a little, too. But I have had other surgeries in the past and I was nervous then! This web site has been so helpful to me...keep in touch........Stella
