I really cannot believe that one year ago today I had lap RNY. I have met so many goals.
1) off diabetes meds in the first week
2) off cholesterol meds
3) down from 10 meds a day to 3 , off some depression meds
4) exercise 5 out of 7 days
5) wear a size 10 pant, small shirt--down from a 22/24--2X
6) sat comfortably in an airline seat with legs tucked under me!
7) I can shop in nearly any "normal" store
8) I AM HEALTHY
9) I have just 11 lbs to get to GOAL!.
10)and hmmm... what was the other thing?.. OH YEAH, I lost 96 lbs
I have learned so much from you. I so enjoy reaching out and sharing my journey. Y'all are the best. Thank you!

Hey there beauty!
I am so glad you had a good experience with the dentist.
As far as your labs, were you taking a vit d supplement before? I don't take one but I get lots of fortified milk, cheese, calcium and 15 min of sunlight on unprotected (read no sunscreen) skin each day the sun is out.
love you,
J

Hey MY GIRLS!!!! (and the few men on our board),
Well everyone knows that I had a ovary and a huge cyst removed a month ago.
I actually had not felt to bad after surgery went right back to work and then about 2 weeks ago.....UH OH UH OH
started feeling like total crap,so I finally went to the dr.'s .....not my gastric bypass dr. but reg. dr.
so we did some blood tests etc. (blood pressure was low, and sugar was high, and vitamin D level almost none)
He put me on 50,000 mil. of vitamin D
Sent out another test for the sugar and that came bac****i guess the vitamin D can throw off your insulin levels?)
anyways...........my symptoms were EXTREME FATIGUE,head rushes just from moving my head side to side, huge dark circles under my eyes, and my fingertips were sore, also burning sensations in my arms (almost feeling like my flesh was tearing)
ON THE GOOD SIDE............I HAVE A EXTREME PHOBIA OF THE DENTIST I MEAN IT'S AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I MET with a new dentist last week, I felt like it was going to be a good thing I need major dental work anyways
TODAY I GOT 2 ROOT CANALS AND 2 CROWNS AND 2 FILLINGS AND only took a valum last night and one this morning and HE DIDN'T HURT ME AT ALL!!!! OMG!!!!! it was one of the most pleasant experiences i have ever had at the dental office. I am scheduled next week for 3 fillings.........
(i am so happy about that)
love to all of you!

Topic: one year down and many more to go....
Ok........ so I had my 1 year post op visit today. Amazing what a journey this has been and what a difference that year has made. Even through the foamies, the hunger pains (that dang pre-op liquid diet), the dumping episodes and the dreaded "everything tastes bad" phase... I haven't regretted the decision I made. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I've officially lost 100 lbs as of today. I've actually dropped below where I'm at now, only to gain it back a day later. Funny how that happens, but I've read that I'm not the only one to go through it. So as of today, my official medical chart says that I'm 100 lbs lighter than I was on this exact day last year.
I look better, I feel great and I'm ready to see what life has to offer. I thank EVERYONE for their support the last year and send my best wishes that everyone will have the same successful results that I've had (or better).
Definitely more room on the loser's bench!!!!!
