I realized recently that I will NEVER be able to just Eat...unchecked. I see myself slipping back into old habits and we all know that wrong choices, grazing etc will lead to wait gain. I'm not afraid....or at least not living in fear of weight gain because I plan to continue my exercise routine, and making healthy choices. Going to continue weighing myself at least weekly...so if any weight starts attaching itself to me, I can kick myself in the butt and take it back off again. I know I have entered into a life long commitment, to take care of myself. I havent for one moment kidded myself into believing that the RNY was my miracle cure and after the weight came off I could do whatever I wanted because I would never be fat again. I am a recovering food addict....so just like a recovering alcoholic who can't have even one drink.....or an ex smoker who can't have even one smoke....I have to be vigilant and take care of myself. We are all worth it!!!! Congrats to everyone on the weight loss over the last year!! Becky

thank you for your feedback. no matter how little or how much i eat i feel guilty so it helps to hear how others are doing and put things in perspective. i'm just so afraid of over eating and stretching my stomach out again.

I agree with Cleo and thats about what I am taking in...between 1000- 1400 calories a day. Although I think I may need more with my excersise routine. My weight loss has slowed down almost to a stand still and I still want to loose anohter 15 - 20 lbs. I workout in one way or another EVERYday. depennding on the day sometimes its a lot, sometimes less but a min of 30 mins a day. Becky

Keeping my fingers crossed - ya think that will do it? Seriously, I still count calories, protein, carbs and fats and exercise 5 days/week (gym, golf and biking). I just returned from a 4-day golf vacation and "tested the waters" - had a couple of margaritas, chips and salsa, and peanuts. Didn't gain, but that type of diet will not become routine! Let me know what you're doing! Cleo

Hey, Cindy, Depending on what your activity level is, you may want to increase calories. Make sure to get in carbs about 30 minutes before strenuous exercise and protein within 30 minutes after finishing strenuous exercise. Also, keep your protein up if you are still losing weight (or trying to). I'm still doing 90-100 g of protein. The dr said that can drop to about 60 g when I'm done losing. I concentrate on protein (50-60% of intake) and split the rest between fat and carbs, with carbs a bit higher percentage-wise. If I don't exercise, I try to keep calories to 1200/day. With exercise, I up it to about 1400. Although I'm losing VERY slowly, I am still losing. Good luck! Cleo

6/7/07 was my surgery date. I've lost 118 lbs. Woo hoo! I'm very happy about that. What I am worried about is regaining weight. What are y'all doing to maintain?

just wondering for those of you that are a year out from surgery, how many fat/calories are you taking in? I feel like compared to the few months after my surgery, I am eating like a pig, but when tracking my food intake, I barely take in 1000 calories. I've hit a plateau and can't seem to break it and was wondering if I was eating too many calories.
