Topic: RE: How much can you/do you eat now?
Hi Jeannie- I have wondered the same thing...how much should I be eating??? I am at goal, but feel I eat too much to maintain it long term. I eat about 4 oz of protein and about a cup of vegetables at a meal. I think I could eat more. I have been snacking on fresh fruit, but I am not sure I should do that either since it does contain sugar. My carbs are all from fruits and vegetables. How about you? What amounts are you eating? I think I eat 1000-1200 calories daily. Anyone else have any input? I would like to know how much you eat. Thanks. Elizabeth

Good work on your anniversary.. Good work As far as eating. I don't know I am feeling exactly like you do. I don't measure or weigh.. or count... and I know I should. I usually eat about the same thing every day and have maintained a loss of 1 to 2 1/2 lbs a week.. But this last week I have been snacking to much.. and those Pringles go down real easy.. and I was hungry for Twinkies.. all that junk food I have been able not to eat. I ate them and the scale is up today... KICK MYSELF, KICK MYSELF. I know what to do and what to eat. DARN ME !! DARN ME!! I will go back to basics and the junk food is going to go to my 12 year old Girl.. or in the garbage. Good luck. I hope others have answers to your questions. I just needed to vent. Alice

I don't know if I'm eating too much or not enough sometimes. I can eat a good amount now of most things and not get pain. It's almost hard to tell when I'm full. Some days I feel like I eat too much, but then there are days when I wonder if I'm eating enough. What volume of food do you eat at a meal? Do you have snacks? How many calories do you aim for, or do you still just count protein and try to limit fat? Have you allowed any carbs back into your life? Ok...enough with the 20 questions. I'll leave you alone now. Thank you. This is such an issue for me now. I want a bite of something everytime I walk through the kitchen. Scary. I get so worried about the "old me" coming back.

A year ago today, I started became a loser. Now I'm a winner! I'm only down 105 lbs (I had hoped for 120), but I made my goal clothing size, so I'm ok with that. I'd still like to lose a little more, although my surgeon's group tells me not to. What an amazing year it has been!! Thank you all for your help and support! hope that you are all enjoying your surgiversaries also!! Jeannie

Tamilyn I would like to say congrads on your wonderful weight loss. God is truly good. I started out not to far from you I was 425 and I am now 270. I wish I could have lost 200lbs my first year out. But I am ok with that 70 more lbs to go. It has been a wonderful year... Denise

I'm just so excited Friday was my 1 year Post-Op and I have lost 203 pounds from 415 size 32 to 211.6 size 14. I am truley the happiest I have ever been and it's not the scale that does it for me it's the new Smokin Hot Jeans. I did a seminar last night and it was more fun than ever I was so happy to share my story I never thought I would have these results in a year but I thank everyone who ever supported me in this as well as my doctor for being so strong on follow up. Robin you rock! Thanks. Talk to you later Tamilyn

1200-1400 calories of which 90-100g are protein (55-60%) and the balance split between carbs (25-27%) and fat (15-18%).
