Topic: RE: healthy snacks
Pistachio nuts; LF/low carb yogurt with extra unflavored protein powder + fresh fruit added; NSA fudgsicles; SF instant Jello pudding with extra unflavored protein powder and topped with fresh fruit; and (darned that Buffy again!) LC lite cheese on TJ's flat bread crackers. I also recently found Santa Barbara brand salsa (REALLY chunky tomatoes and onions, less sauce) and use soy crisps as scoops. REALLY hard to avoid mindlessly eating this though so I only get it as an appetizer to take to someone else's house.
My real indulgence snack is those extra large pimento stuffed green olives from the olive bar at the grocery - I have to limit myself to buying only 8-12 at a time then portion them out 2 at a time for a snack at work.
I significantly upped my protein to about 130-140 g/day a couple of months ago and find that if I concentrate on that, I'm really full and only have to deal with head hunger on weekends. During the week with work and exercise, by the time I get home, cook and eat dinner, I'm stuffed and too tired to snack.
Keep trying - our motivations come and go; we can't be 100% consistent day in and day out.

Good for you!!! Isn't it a thrill to find out you are healthy and getting to start your life all over again.
The vitamin D thing seems to plaque most of us, but I understand it is a common problem for everyone.
Keep up the good work. You look absolutely wonderful. Alice

Topic: Great News....
Hi everyone,
I just had to share with you all. After 1 year and 120 pounds lost.... I now find myself on a different journey. I am going to be a MOM!! I am due at the end of January.
After about 15 years of wanting a child, I can't believe this is finally happening. I thought for sure that with PCOS, I would never be able to conceive. This surgery is just amazing!!
I saw my surgeon and my nutritionist and they both say I will be great. My labs are good, I am in great shape, and with the amount of weight that I have lost, they both are happy with the results I have achieved.
My OB isn't concerned at all about the pregnancy, even with me being 38 years old.... so that was also a relief. She said that I am in such good health, that I wouldn't be considered high risk at all.
Good luck to all the others wanting to start a family Post-op
Sherri
