Topic: RE: Anyone 1 year out and not losing weight
I can't say that I have had any issues like you are experiencing. I know back in the earlier stages I had issues with some proteins like ground beef and pork, but now I seem to be able to tolerate almost anything.
I know that some people that go to my support group have had issues with certain food even after 1 year, but they seem to be very few.
I'd suggest talking with your surgeon or nutritionist to see what they suggest. I know being sick is no fun at all, and is likely not good for your health either.
Have you tried tofu at all? Tofu is a good source of protein and it will take on the taste of any sauce you cook it in. So for example you can make a chili with everything you normally would but then substitute the ground beef for tofu, I promise you will be amazed how you can't notice the tofu.
Other protein options.... cottage cheese, yogurt, and cheese. Protein is very important, so I'd suggest you try and get it any way you can.
You should be happy with your 100 pound loss, from all the people who attend my group, I'd say that is the average weight loss at the 1 year mark. Of course that depends on how much you had to lose to begin with.
At 1 year I am still losing weight, but since I am now pregnant I am sure that will change soon!!
Good luck and stay healthy.

Topic: Anyone 1 year out and not losing weight
I had my surgery June 07, I had some complications so my doctor doesn't count my first month. I have lost a little over a 100 pounds but haven't lost anything the past 2 months. I can't eat any meat, no chicken, beef, fish - nada. I can't drink protein shakes or stuff like that, I throw it up and I still throw up at least 1 or 2 times a week. I try to walk around the block every day, but the heat has been a hindrance. I'm hoping this is just a phase and my body will get back into losing weight, anyone else go through this?

I posted some new pics on my profile... they're in the "before and after" album.
I went out with a friend the other night and had a 26 yr old hitting on me, He thought I was HIS age. Boy was he wrong!!! But it was still a nice ego boost.
I also saw a friend that I hadn't seen in about 6 months and she said "OMG, you're SO tiny". Me? tiny? pfffft.... apparently they see something I don't, but I'll take the compliment and run with it.
A lot going on over here, so I haven't really been hanging out here much, but I'm keeping my chin up (and all the other body parts that have drifted south).

Baby girl,
I would be heartbroken if I had to stay out of the sun! I grew up at the beach in NJ and still live just a few miles way from it here in Virginia Beach.
We will plan some inside activities when you come to visit in Aug/Sept.
