I'm SOOOO happy....
My daughter is going to go to an informational meeting. She wanted to have surgery with me, but I didn't want to do it at the same time because I wouldn't be able to take care of her if she needed help. So....she decided she just wasn't going to do it at all. I have been talking to her here and there and she was just like, "No, I'm not going to do it."
Well, I talked to her the other day and simply said I was worried about her. That I had this surgery because of my health and I heard her really out of breath after coming up the stairs. I told her it scared me and that she wasn't going to lose the weight on her own with the PCOS and all it is nearly impossible. I told her I was worried she was going to get diabetes really soon if she didn't do something about this and that she should just talk to our PCP about it. I have two brothers with severe diabetes (well, one doesn't have it anymore, after losing a leg, ruining his heart and kidneys, he had a kidney and pancreas transplant). I don't want to see her go down this road.
She met with our PCP last week and Marsha (our PCP) just put it very plainly. Kayla, this is a disease and if you needed surgery for anything else wouldn't you do it? Well, we are on our way now and I pray this all works out. I've told her she should come on here, but she's not ready to to that yet, but hopefully someday she will be.
Okay, I'm done, just very excited that my daughter is on her way to a healthier life.
