Protein Problems
I would like to be able to use the protein products (shakes, bars) to supplement my intake. EVERY thing I try, be it whey or soy, gives me explosive diahrrea! Even a sip of something sends me to the bathroom. My surgeon says I have irritable bowel syndrome. It's not irritable, it's downright pissed! Any suggestions? Anyone else have this issue? I have always had IBS, but nothing else does it like the protein. Thanks, Deb
I would say increase your cheese. Cottage Cheese, String Cheese, you'll get protein from them and it helps to solidify your bm's. I have IBS, but since surgery I don't. It didn't matter what I ate before surgery, within 1/2 to 1 hour I was in the bathroom....I now have the opposite effect....honestly, I prefer the before surgery bm's, but I was like that for many years. I eat the Atkins bars for protein.
Hope it gets better soon. IBS generally goes in waves....right now it's acting up, but it may change. Here's hoping.
