Does anyone have any info on aprox how many calories we should be consuming daily at this stage (7-8 months out) Because my scale keeps playing games with me I have been really paying attention to how many proteingrams and carbs etc, Ive really lowered my carbs but my calories are still higher than they were a few months ago. I am eating pretty much the same things, just seem to be able to eat more of it...thus making the calories higher... I am wondering if I may be taking in too many calories. Becky

Hi Becky: my NUT told me to shoot for 800 - 1000. I've been in the 900 range and she was fine with that. (i used to always be in the 650-750 range, mine have gone up too). My NUT said to focus on protein and calories and the rest would work out. We'll see. judi

I just had my 7 month check up with my doc. He says between 800-1000 cals. At about 18 months out the max he wants me at is 1600 cals based upon my exercise. Jen

800-1000 plus more as I increase exercise. HOWEVER, I found even when I have strenuous exercise days, I won't lose unless I keep it at 1000. Age-related metabolism! UGH!

Thanks for the input ladies... Well I guess I must be getting too many calories??... I am usually getting more than 1000 now and quite often over 1300...and have gone as high as 1500 on days when I eat a lot of nuts. I recently drastically cut back on carbs and my protien is usually over 120 g for the day. It's frustrating to see the caloires pile up when two of my meals per day consist of mostly salad. I do Aquafit 4 times a week and the other three days I work out on my cross trainer. Very frustrating to loose 3 lbs only to gain back two over and over again. Becky

maybe you should make another appt with a dietician. i think it varies so much depending on your age and exercise. you might just be in a blasted stall too. i only lose 1 week out of the month now. so i only weigh once a week now to keep from getting too frustrated. good luck! judi

My surg said between 800-1000 right now for me. I usually come in right around 1000 or 1050. My scale aint movin' either! Don't know if I should go up or down in cals, but what I'm doing now doesn't seem to be working!

My guide says at 5.5 moths the calorie range is between 1200-1500. I am still no where near that level, but I think that is to maintain your weight. Remember as we lose weight we are also diminishing our caloric deficit,so it takes us longer to lose the weight. I know the weight loss has slowed down for me quite a bit these past few months. As someone mentioned above, the calories per day really varies between surgeons.
