Well I have been reading everyone post for quite some time and I have decided to post and let everyone know how I am doing and my concerns. Quick recap: I was previously banded in 04 and then had it removed due to problemsl in 07. I had the RNY in June as you all. I started at 331 in 04 and lost 80 lbs to gain some of it back. I was 292 when I had the second surgery. I was diagnosed with breast cancer two months after having the band. Thank the Lord I am in remission and have been since 04. I don't have children but know that God will bless me and my husband with kids one day soon. My problem now is that when I had the RNY. I was able to eat a whole chicken breast 6 weeks after my surgery. I freaked out and couldn't understand what the problem was. The doctor was convinced it was me but found out months later that my stomach and small inst is like the same size. In other words my stomach in not really a stomach my food just funnels straight through. This is why I never felt full until is started filling up my small intestine and I would feel the pain then. I have hit more plateaus that you can imagine. I am losing very slow I think. I have lost 81 lbs in 6 1/2 months. I have been at the same weight for about 6 weeks. I don't know what to do. I am getting stressed out therefore I am starting to eat when I am not hungry. I need help in getting back on track. One problem I do have is when I eat anything small or large my stomach bloats up like I never lost any of my stomach. I think that is a problem. Has anyone experienced this at all? What I am asking is does anyone have any advice and help in getting back on track and has anyone experienced slow weight lose? What did you do to get it started back up? My goal is 175 lbs. My doctor thinks this will be great due to my build. I have hips from Lord knows where. Nice coke cola shape but a mess when trying to buy clothes. I have went from 26/28 all over to 14/16 up top and 18W bottom. I appreciated all the advice and info you can give. Jackie

Hi Jackie, Congrats on your 81 lb loss! You are doing so well I am slowly losing now that I have about 20 lbs until goal. I have to keep changing up my food and excercise combined with 80-100 g protein and 70 oz water. Are you taking your vitamins and supplements? I would also go to Texas state boards to look for a support group in your area. Remember that the surgery was done to our stomach's not our heads. Try using fitday.com or sparkpeople.com to track what you eat/drink. Other than that--keep coming back here and we will help all we can! Jen

Jackie, I think you've done great with 81 pounds!!! It sounds like you've been through a lot and you have some case specific problems/concerns. What was your surgeon's advice? Have you been back to the NUT? Sometimes it just takes tweaking things a little to get the scales moving again... I'm 14 pounds below my surgeon's goal but still have 7 pounds to reach my personal goal and its coming off very slowly now and I think that's normal for our phase. Good luck to you sorry I don't have any specific advice for you... (((hugs))) Bekah
