Looking for some reassurance - Please!!
Hello...
I had an open RNY on 25 Jun 07. My starting weight was 272 and I am only 5'4.
I am down approx 94.5 lbs and am afraid I might be done loosing. I still have another 40+ lbs to my personal goal weight.
I wanted to ask if anyone else (JUNE O7' ERS) if this has happend to you. How much are you down? - Did you have a major stall after 6 months out? I'm freaking out
Could I really be done loosing at a little over 6 months out.??
Help - Very scared...
Jenn
hey Jenn: lots of folks are having stalls around now.
i am 5'4", weighed 277 on surgery day (6/26/2007), I've only lost 80 pounds and my surgeon is happy, go figure! he says I'll keep losing as long as I keep following the rules and exercising so I think you will too!
You are probably in a stall.
I have seen where some folks adjusted their carbs/fats/calories at 6 months. I meet with my nutritionist tomorrow to see if she has any words of wisdom.
Jennifer K, who posts on the RNY board a lot has often commented that her nut had her back down on the protein and up the veggies, and keep the fat at 30g and her weight loss kicked in again.
you are NOT done and you are doing really well, hang in there and come around more often!

Hi Jenn,
Nope, I don't think your done yet! I had RNY on 6/7/07 and I've lost 77 pounds since surg + 9 before puts me at 86 total. I have 10 pounds to make my goal although I already met my surgeons goal about 10 pounds ago.
I am experiencing a major stall right now, but that's normal and I know it will keep going if I keep with the program. Of course, I can still whine about it, but I know its normal...
Don't worry! Just work your tool and the scale will move again - REALLY!!!

I'm right there with you! I've lost about the same, and haven't lost a pound in a couple of weeks, in fact some days I'm up a couple of pounds. It scares me to death. It shouldn't Even if I stayed where I am now I should be ok with it, but I'm not. I'm having other issues for another thread, but I completely empathize.
You'll be loosing again soon, I'm sure. You're doing great.
