met some OH people last night...

Hi all! I broke down and went to my first local support group meeting (yeah I know, it took me 7 months...). Anyway... I met some people off the California board that I've gotten to know on OH and it was pretty cool. The support group meeting was useless (IMO) because there were SO MANY people there that you just can't get personal enough. But I will continue to hook up with the local OHers that I met just for fun. I just thought I would share...Bekah

I have met several people from the Michigan board. We have a nice small support group, that I wish I could attend more.

Yeah - it was nice to meet them because it made it feel like you guys are REAL people LOL!

Very cool, isn't it fun! I go on the MN board as I'm on the border and had surgery there. We have Coffee groups that get together on Saturday mornings. They are all over the cities. I started one here in my town and we go to another town as well so one person isn't driving so far all of the time. We meet every other weekend and I also attend one on the opposite weekends in a town about 1/2 hr away. It's so wonderful to be able to talk person to person about things others don't understand. The MN board also has quarterly get togethers where as many from ALL of the groups that can get together in one location (it moves each quarter) to meet even more of the people we talk to all the time on the board. If you have others around you, you might want to start a group, we just post a few days before the day.

Isn't that fun? I have met sooooo many wonderful people from our Virginia board including our very own Cleo! She is a gem. Glad you had a good time and I totally understand about the support group thing. Jen
