Okay so I don't post on here often I know I should but im admitting im more of a reader then a replier...but Im going to come to you all for some serious help. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I'm not losing any weight. I haven't lost for almost 3 weeks now. I have upped my protien in hopes that would help, and then I have started drinking more fluids. I do pilates everday for 40-60 mins and I just don't know what else to do. I hope i haven't ruined my whole surgery some how, but I just don't know why my weight loss has stopped. I would love some advice or some help anything. I'm just over 6 months out and I have lost to date 87 pounds. I know I have lost a good deal...but I was really hoping to lose alot more....PLEASE HELP....I will try any and all suggestions...THANKS SO MUCH!!

Katie - First realize that if you are still following your plan then you have not stopped losing, but you may just have to make some changes to trick your body back into action. If you are not recording your food intake, start doing that to make sure you're getting in the right amount of calories. Too low? Your body will protest against losing. Too high - well, we all know what that means! If you use FitDay.com to record your food AND your exercise, you can how your calories burned (basal metabolic rate + exercise) compare to your calories eaten. You have to consume 3500 calories less than you burn to lose 1 pound. Example: basal metalbolic rate of 1400/day + exercise calories burned of 500/day = 1900/day calories. If your food intake is 1200 calories/day it will take you 5 days (1900-1200 = 700; 3500/700 = 5) to lose a pound. I had slacked off on recording my food and exercise and recently started that again for the discipline. Then to make it even more confusing, there is the issue of fluid retention not just hormonal but from certain foods. I've been on a no sugar added pickle kick and I know the high sodium content has done me NO GOOD. I haven't lost weight since Dec 20 either. Stick to your plan and you'll be fine. Let us know when the scale moves!

Katie: breathe.......... we've all hit a stall around 6 months. since you and I had surgery towards the end of the month ours comes later than some of the other folks. are you losing inches? In November I only lost 7 lbs but went down 3 sizes? you have done well so far and you are not done!! stay with the program. did you have a nutritionist appt as part of your 6 month check up? (mine isn't till next week). i've seen where others had to increase veggies and lower fat at this point to get er rolling again. maybe something like that would help? remember, it takes 3900 calories to gain a pound. if you keep following the rules the weight is going to come off, hang in there! judi

The others have offered good advise. I plateaued for almost 6 weeks, partly due to other health reasons. I am feeling better and back to plan and dropped 5 pounds last week. You have come a long way baby, give your body the rest it is looking for, and keep on track. Your plateau will pass. Best of luck God Bless Pam

Katie, Don't worry - you're doing everything right. You're NOT DONE LOSING! Really, there is some good information in the previous posts and it's all true. It's just a stall and you will start to lose again soon. I know it's frustrating, but just know that what you are experiencing is normal and once your body adjusts the weight will start coming off again. In December I lost 6 pounds, but no inches. So far in Jan I've only lost 2 pounds, but I've dropped almost 2 sizes in about a week! Our bodies are weird that way. ((((hugs)))) Hang in there... Bekah
