Blatantly Materialistic Post!
Best gift given - a Mp3 player for my 85 year old mother in law that lives with us. I filled it with classic country and hooked it to a speaker system. All she has to do is push the button to turn on the speaker. She loves it. She plays solitare at the kitchen table in the evenings, and the music now blares.
Best gift recieved. Don't laugh, a temporary tattoo kit. I have been playing with the idea of getting one. This is letting me play with the idea even more. Its a bit limited, but fun still.
WARNING: GET TISSUES----------
Well the two best gifts I have ever received were for Valentines Day 14 years apart.
My birthday and my parents anniversary are on Valentines Day. In 1976 my Dad was dying of colon cancer. The doctors let him come home to celebrate our special day. He went back to the hospital the next week and passed away 5 weeks later.
February 14, 1991 was my 27th birthday. My now ex (he remembered my birthday! lol)) came into my office with balloons. Then he presented me with a small box. In side the box was a photo type magnet that said : A BABY IS A SPECIAL GIFT and where the photo would go said IT'S A BOY!!!! You see, we were waiting for word that we had been chosen to adopt a baby.We adopted our son (now 17) from Peru. He is the joy of my life.
That night we had Chinese take out and my fortune cookie read : Among the lucky, you are the chosen one.

the best gift I got was my new 7.1 megapixil Olympus Camera from my hubby! Yay I love taking pictures now! Or my other good gift was from my dad, he knows how cold I am all the time so he got me a heated mattress pad for my bed! I love it!
the best gift i gave was either the gift of direction to my husband (a tomtom navagation system for his truck) or the Bronco gear & perfume I gave my mom (she's a colorado native!).
nothing spiritual here! LOL
