OK no spiritual-type answers allowed! LOL!! What was the best gift you gave and what was the best gift you received for Christmas? The best gift I gave was to my sister. I gave her a depression glass divided relish dish in a silver plate holder that was my mother's. Sis has coveted it for years. She cried when she opened it! Best gift I received was a VERY simple mp3 player from my son and DIL. It rocks at the gym!

Hmmmm, well with all the hours, gave the kids money and they got their coats....so, didn't really give a lot this year. Best gift I received was from my parents. My sister and I both received our bronzed baby shoes with the pictures that sat behind them on my parents piano for years.

Ooooo! The bronzed baby shoes! How wonderful! And I'm sure the kids were pleased to pick out their own coats! Great idea!

I think the best gift i gave was to mom I bought her a real Gucci purse although i had to explain to her what it was LOL best gift i received was my GPS although my hubby gave it to me the day before christmas eve and said it's not a christmas present... we had said we weren't going to give each other gifts this year because of just finishing building our house and buying a new bedroom set and all the appliances etc for the house... then of course he snuck a few other gifts in as well (if you all must know i bought him a new laptop and some other things as well LOL) so neither of us kept our promise to each other

I think all husbands who ever believed wives who said no birthday/anniversary/Valentine's Day/Christmas present is necessary changed their names afterward. They are now known as ex-husbands! OK, chickie, so where do you go that you need the GPS???? I thought you said your town was small?

The best I gave was to my 12 year old G daughter. It was a memorial plaque for her dog Buddy who had to be put down in June because he had cancer. She cried then cried evn more when she knelt on it and broke it. I ordered a new one to be sent to her house. The best present I received was from myself... THIS SURGERY!!! For several years I have had to have my G son come over and rearrange my furniture around the tree. Well this year I not only rearranged the furniture, I also vacumned the ENTIRE apt. in one swoop. When they were leaving they all asked if I wanted them to move the furniture, and I said HECK NO I CAN DO IT MYSELF!!! This has given me a whole new life. Alice

OMG - what a great description of how weight loss has changed your life! It sometimes is just the day-to-day living that reminds us of how far we've come, isn't it? Good on you!

We have a goddaughter who is a freshman in hs and her sister is a junior. my dh sees them every year but i haven't seen them since they were about 4 and 6. we went to their bball game right before Christmas so I picked up some college hoodie sweatshirts for these 6 foot tall amazon women, terrified they would hate them or they wouldn't be long enough. (they live near Minneapolis, we live in the sticks) They were so excited to get them they both wore them to school the next day! Made my day!! My best present was my husband getting to come with me to see my family for the first time in 15 years. He just retired from coaching basketball so this was the first time in a long time he had no holiday tournament to stick around for. We survived a 1600 mile road trip still married and it was great to have him with! (yeh, a GPS would've been nice too! lol - maybe next year!) judi
