Slowing down
Hey everyone,
You all seem to be doing so well with your weight loss. I am really starting to see things slow down. This month I only lost 6 pounds
Have any of you found you have had a slow month yet?
I am at 6 months now. I started at 317 and I am 5'8" tall. My weight today at my 6 month mark was 236. down 81 pounds since surgery. I have a goal to be at 170-180. I also lost 33 pounds pre-surgery. So I am just wondering if my body is adjusting and the scale will catch up next month. I am just worried that I will stop losing and never hit my goal.
Any thoughts?
December has been very mean to me as well...I have only lost a total of 6 lbs since Dec 1...
The last couple months have been small loosing months as well. In September I had a stall that lasted almost 2 weeks.....I was horrified.
This time I keep loosing and gaining the same 3 lbs, I will loose 3, gain 2, loose one, gain .5 over and over again, so the scale keeps moving but just when I think I've broken through, I gain 2 lbs....very frustrating. BUT I do notice even though my scale is being very mean I am still shrinking...so as long as that keeps up, I will be OK

november was slow for me. 7 lbs but more than 2 sizes. see if your body is adjusting. things have picked up again in december - yay.
i started lifting weights in november too.
i added a protein drink a day in dec.
your body might be adjusting, hang in there.
jennifer k has posted that she met with her nutritionist at this point and was told to increase veggies and watch fat. i had to reschedule my appt with my nut.

hey sherri, novemeber i only lost 5lbs.....also....uggggggghhhh......although i did notice a huge size difference went from a size 12 jeans to a size 8............
i think you are doing great! You will hit your goal girl!!!
i increased my protein again...........and the scale moved big time over the weekend.
I lost only 3 pounds in Nov. At my 6 month check up Dec 12, my surgen said from here on out it is typically life style change and excersise. At surgery I was 251 and have been holden steady for a MONTH at 174. Guess I better start excersing again. The Doctor I go to is at the Brody school of medicine in Greenville Nc where all this surgery started many moons ago. They are backed by a team of scientist and the Doctor that started the R by pass. He said I was a light weight to start with but at this point it was up to me to have started a life style change and keep it! I am still flustered because I know alot of days I don't eat much at all and some days the I do snack on the wrong things though not alot. I haven't really had any bad experiances with dumping for periods of long times like some. I guess I am worried if I am eating around 1000 calories a day and I am not losing what happens if I eat 1500 a day will I gain!! I don't always buy this starvation mode when I think about the people in those concentration camps.
Wow! so it isn't only me. Thank goodness I have been kicking myself alot. I have only lost 4 lbs so far this month. I have my 6 months check up on Thursday... and they have already called and told me that my blood work was fine, and I still have all my hair.. so must be doing something right.
Keep up the good work girls. It is hard to believe that it has been 6 months already. Alice
Same here... just when I think I'll never get to goal the scale will move a little more. I've had several of these stalls and I don't sweat it too much as I'm still shrinking in inches. This month I've upped my run to 1.5 miles and I've increased my weight on my weight training exercises. Hopefully that will get things moving again.
Thank you all for your support!!! It's great having a place to go and talk about this with others that have had their surgeries around the same time as me. I never miss a support group meeting... but there aren't many people that had surgery around the same time as me. So I love coming here and reading the posts and posting every now and then.
Thanks again.... and I am glad I am not alone.
