need help
Hey it has been a year and a half since I have had my surgery, I have had a lot going on but first drum roll please.... I am down to 115 lbs!!!!! I have had the best experience with my surgery I really am a new person!
I have changed my life completely I am going back to school to be a certified wellness instructor! I want to be a personal trainer specifically to help others who are going through the Gastric Bypass surgery.
This is why I need your help. I am doing a final project and I need someone who is around 6 months or so out from their surgery. I believe that is when the Dr. said that is when he will give a medical release for someone to start on a physical fitness program.
I have a project due that I need immediate help with but also I am trying to design my program and need to do a little recherché and get helpful input.
If you're interested in getting some free personal Training advice and don't mind being my guinea pig then please help me!!!!
Awesome can you tell me what you do, how you feel, what u r doing now for example what you can lift or do? have you done any fitness test, take any measurements?
And If I send you some information sheets can you fill them out for me? You do not have to put your name or any personal info like that on it. These would be the forms that I would give my client just to get a basic background of someone like you. It has been a year and a half for me so I don't remember where I was at that point. Do you have fax? I so appreciate your help!!!!

How often do you guys exercise? How long can you walk are you still week, or get tired easily? How do you feel about going to a gym? Did you work out or go to a gym before the surgery?

I was released for exercise (with added weights) at 1 month. Until then I was doing 1/2 hr of cardio (treadmill or recumbent bike) 3-5 times a week. Now I stick pretty much to weight training at least 3x a week ****asionally adding cardio a couple of times a week if I can stand the boredom). My circuit takes me 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours depending on whether I'm almost ready to increase weights (more reps takes more time; fewer reps when weight is increased take less time).
I did an intake fitness test soon after surgery but have not done a progress test yet. Previously I've worked with a trainer (mainly to force me to get into the gym), but haven't felt the need yet since surgery.
Large muscles groups I'm doing real well with steadily increasing weights; I fight to make any increases with small muscles. Stamina is not a problem and I sleep more soundly the days I exercise.
If you have any other questions, ask away.
