I was wondering how everyone did over the holiday eating? personally I stunk! We have been eating on leftovers since Friday when we celebrated our Thanksgiving. It was the first time my daughter cooked a Thanksgiving meal and she was very zelous with what she cooked. Boy! Can she cook! I ate 3 no bake cookies on the first day; 2 the next day; and about two spoon fulls of her banana split cake on the 3rd day. Is there any recipe for no bake cookies that has used Splenda or cut the calories in some way? I am dreading Christmas coming up because of this. I hope I am stronger. I sure left GOD out of this equation! Elisa

Since I had no ggodies or leftovers at my house, I did great. I did find out though that apple pie and pumpkin pie fillings cause me no problems. So I know if they had been in my house, they would have been endangered species and disappeared! Here are a couple of SF/no bake cookie recipes I found by googling OH. Plenty more SF cookie recipes that call for baking. ___________________________ Here's the recipe for the no-bakes as was given to me by my sister Cindy..who had her WLS November 2003. I think the next batch I make I'm going to try replacing a small portion (1/2 c maybe) of the oats with Flax seed to give it a little more fiber. No Bake Cookies 3 c quick oats 2/3 c peanut butter 2 c splenda *1/4 c sugar (Cindy thinks they are a little bitter if you omit this..so I never tried it without adding it) 1/2 c low fat butter (1 stick) 1/2 c milk (skim) 1/3 c HERSHEY's cocoa (Cindy has tried other brands and they just didn't taste as good) 2 tsp vanilla Measure out oats & peanut butter & set aside. Combine splenda, sugar, butter, milk, cocoa, Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. Bring to a rolling boil then remove from heat. Add oats, peanut butter, and vnilla. Stir quickly and mix well. Immediately drop by heaping tsp onto wzx paper or foil. Cool. Makes 2-4 dozen...depending on size of cookie. SUGAR FREE CHOCOLATE NO BAKE COOKIES Boil 1 1/2 minutes: 1/2 cup butter or margarine 2 cups Splenda 4 T. dry cocoa 1/2 cup milk Add: 3 cups oatmeal 1/2 cup peanut butter 1 t. vanilla Mix well and drop by spoonfuls on foil or wax paper till firm.

I did good. I just wasn't in a turkey eating mood or something. I ate minimally... the only thing I splurged on was I ate a biscuit and a couple bites of apple pie. my mom already dumped the left overs by Saturday morning. I guess I wasn't the only one not in the mood for turkey! I actually lost a pound over the last couple of days and i just bought a new pair of jeans in a size 6. My hubby, stepdaughter & I are having family portraits taken next week! I'm excited.

I think I did pretty well. I did eat a tablespoon of stuffing once every hour til I fell asleep on Thursday night! I get that "carb-coma" some people have mentioned. Its like I was shot with a tranquilizer dart or something. And no sweets of any kind for me this thanksgiving. I am still afraid of eating sweets, plus I am a type I diabetic, its a no-no anyways. belinda

I did pretty well. I ate about a tablespoon of dressing/stuffing, and had a few ounces of wine. That's all. Otherwise, I stuck to my regularly scheduled eating plan. Funny thing was, I didn't miss the sweets. These days, fruit tastes like dessert to me. I had some wonderful fresh fruit instead of the pumpkin pie (which really never was my favorite, anyway). But I DID enjoy that stuffing. I did remember to eat my protein first, though, then my veggies, so I didn't feel that I needed much of the stuffing. I'm amazed at how satisfying just a taste of something is. I've seen people like that (who haven't had WLS), but never understood it. Now I get it! I exercised every day over the long weekend, and I actually lost two pounds over the weekend. I was so happy when I stepped on the scale this morning!
