I took my own advice and scooped with a small spoon everything that I wanted to eat and only ended up eating half of what i took LOL which was a very small amount, I even tried some of the pie very very very little sliver probably amounted to 1 spoon.....i did good and didn't feel slighted.

I did the same and ate with everyone's eyes on me. It is the first family function we have had since my surgery. I was surprised on everyone's response to dishes that were brought. The comment that "I made this with lowfat xxxxx, so you could have some," was very common. We had sugar free rice pudding and sugar free apple pie included in our desserts. I was happy and pleased with our dinner.

I too felt like I wasn't slighted. I had a little bit of everything I wanted. Even had that 'full' feeling that you expect at Thanksgiving, but it was probably the stuffing because it's mostly bread, which is something I usually don't eat at all. My sweet thing I ate was the cranberry with the turkey. No pie for me! I also made this really good dip to munch on: black beans, corn, diced tomatoes and spices...yummy!
