Thanksgiving Goal post...

I started my Thanksgiving goal with 16 pounds to lose and thought I could do it, especially when I lost 4 pounds for 2 weeks in a row. But....well, I've only lost 1 pounds since last week. I started working out and I'm afraid that has sabatoged my goal. If I'm building muscle, that's going to take away from the loss for fat. GRRRRR Maybe I need to just concentrate on cardio until Thanksgiving. Hmmmm Started my goal with 16 lbs to lose. Previous weeks weight loss was 4 lbs. for 8 lbs left before goal. This last week I lost 1 lb. I have 7 lbs to lose to hit goal in 1 week. Oh well......at least I'm healthy and shrinking. We'll see....it may take another week to hit my goal. How are you doing?

Pam - I'm a little worried about making my goal too. I wanted to get to 250 by Thanksgiving. As of last Monday, I'm at 257.5. That left 7.5 pounds in 10 days...which is a bit optimistic. But we are still losing. I've up'd the water, and given up my occaisional ****tail, and trying to increase the protein. But I think I share your attitude. I'm still losing weight and at least now I'm thinking about what is going into my mouth. I was taking advantage of the fact that I was losing to ignore what I was eating. Hang on and press on!

I'm right with both of you. I was just shooting for my normal 10 lbs a month but as usual, in the last 2 weeks I've yo yo'd for an average of 1 lb for the 2 weeks. So, don't think I'll be hitting it unless a miracle happens. but, if we are all building up muscle that is still better in the long run! one sloooooow step at a time! judi

Ladies, DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED!!!!! You've done so well and as long as you do what you're supposed to do, your body will do what it's supposed to do -- ON ITS SCHEDULE, but maybe not on yours. NEVER NEVER think of exercise as sabotage; it's really your best friend. I have an idea...why don't we make life style goals and post about our successes in meeting them? Things such as -consume x grams of protein each day -exercise x times per week for x minutes each time -consume less than x grams of carbs per day -stay away from or eat less of [name a new food addiction if you have one like LC cheese is a good choice, but if you eat too many crackers with it, maybe not so good] -only eat carbs along with protein We've already taken the big step to weight loss through surgery. It's the life style that will bring us the big success! You're doing so great!

Oh honey....I'm sorry, I'm not discouraged. I'm SOOOOOOO happy to be able to work out. It wasn't all that long ago that I could barely walk. I'm not going to quit exercising. I'm having a blast doing it. Just wanted to say why I thought I wasn't going to make my goal. I started this goal so I could be accountable....and I'm just being accountable. Like I said, I'm shrinking, people are noticing even, so how could I be discouraged. Pam

I need to loose 4 pounds by thanksgiving which doesnt sound too bad except that I have been loosing SUPER slow th last few weeks........ I guess we will have to see......... I am at 206 now and i wanna get down to 202............202 is kinda of a random number but its my "century" mark as well as my weight that will put my BMI in the 20's!! I really hope I can do it...........
