Lynette - turn this situation around. When is the last time you lost 64 pounds in 4 months? You've done marvelous. Some people are able to lose more weight, and good for them. But that doesn't make you a failure. Look at the other statistics you've reported there...My goodness pants size from 8x to 4x? That's some serious change! Now there is some good advice about eating enough calories, increasing water intake, exercising more, and you should do all of those. Even the ones that have lost 100 lbs should take that advice. Personally, I've lost 70 pounds, and I too am envious of others who have lost more. But my knee doesn't hurt, I'm exercising 3x week, and sleeping better than I have in years, fit better in an airplaine seat, bloodwork is good, etc. Keep pressing on. Others will finish the weight race before us, but we will finish. I couldn't have said that a year ago. God Bless!

You are doing great!! I have lost 106 pounds so far but only 70 of those were since surgery. I too was disheartened reading these large #s from others until someone told me they were counting pre-op weight loss too. Most of us do. I mean after all it is weight we lost. Chin up girl you have already lost 4 plus size pants sizes. That is not any easy task. It is easier for skinny girls to lose pants sizes because they are only made for a 10 pound range. So every 10 pounds or so they get to say they are in a smaller size. I get between 600-800 calories most days. Some days more some days a little less. I do at least 30 min cardio 5x a week. I shoot for more but don't always make it. I also do strenghing 3x a week (crunches, leg lifts , arm curls, etc). I started with water aerobics 3x a week because that was all I could do. Then after surgery I would walk and add more distance each day. Now I am looking for variety so I walk, do aerobics class, do a dance class. I get between 60-80 grams of protein (some say I should shoot for more) Suesan

Hi Lynette! I think you've done an EXCELLENT job! I am 11 lbs away from having lost 100 lbs, BUT.....here's how it adds up. I lost 24.5 lbs pre-op in six weeks prior to surgery. Since my surgery day I have lost 64.5 which was 9 days before yours, so you're actually doing better than I am. The majority of us include our pre-op loss as in our opinion, it's all part of the process. And come on....ONLY lost????? You have lost an astonishing SIXTY-FOUR POUNDS!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm really glad my doctor explained stalls to me before surgery. He let me know right away that there were going to be times when the scale didn't move, but that was going to be the time that I would be losing inches. Look at how many sizes you've lost already! That's amazing....think about it. I know, I get into those times where I don't feel like I'm losing fast enough, but if you really think about it....you've lost 16 lbs a month....and it's still going to drop off. You're melting darling and you're doing fine! Take care and come back again hon! Pam

Thanks yall! I actually havent been using my surgery date as the beginning of my weightloss I went to seminar on April 5th...it was a 4.5 hour drive home...my hubby kid and self had good talk about loosing weight as I learned in the seminar that certain weights would require a 4 week liquid diet...I could not imagine this so we all went on a Healthy eating plan.....I lost a lil over 20 lbs before my visit in May so 2 week liquid diet before surgery in June. I never took the Farewell food tour but I ate certain foods knowing that I would not be eating that anytime soon if ever again. so since April I have lost 100 lbs so I was very excited about that till I realised that some are just posting the weightloss since their surgery...I guess Im just freaking out a bit! the Dr appointment is next week. I want to have a good one.....I feel good....I look better but for the weird walk I have these days. I remember when I put on the weight my body had to adjust to it and now Im loosing so fast the body has a hard time adjusting....I walk like Im drunk. thanks so very much for all of the quick replies! nutti

Lynette - I can only echo what others have said...you are doing just fine! 100 lbs since April - wish I could say that! I had no desire to lose weight prior to surgery so just cut down and lost a whopping 7 lbs in 2 months. LOL! Not much but oh well c'est la vie. I knew I could do it post-surgery and the dr didn't require a pre-op diet. So, good on you! Yeah, we all want to do as well as those reaching century club in a matter of months, For me, I wish I were as skinny as our friend Crystal Becoat, but what the heck, she doesn't have my very fine cowboy boots either! HaHa! We each have our own special things! Yours is losing 4 pant sizes and 100 pounds! YAY you! Keep it up. Believe me, your dr will not be disappointed. Let us know what he says, OK?

Lynette, everyone *****plied has already said what I wanted to say lol. You are by NO MEANS a failure! "Only" 64 pounds? That's awesome! Could you have lost that weight in 4.5 months without surgery? I've "only" lost 62 pounds since surgery. But I feel better than I have in years and I'm off all of my diabetes and blood pressure meds. That's enough for me to feel like a complete success even if I don't lose another ounce! Keep your chin up girl, it's all in your perspective! Donna

My surgery was June 4th and I have lost 68 lbs. since that date. I was getting discouraged as well, but remind myself that I am healthier now than I have been in years and I am off most of my medications. I eat about 800 calories on most days, and I use the treadmill 3-4 times per week. I supplement my food with liquid protein drinks and totally get about 100 grams of protein a day. I worry that I can eat about a cup or a little more of food at a meal. Wondering if that is too much... How about everyone else? How much do you usually eat at a meal? Good luck to all of you! We really need to step back and give ourselves a pat on the back. We went through an incredible journey to get to where we are now! Elizabeth
