My sister (who had WLS last December) was one to tell me to keep all of your lab results on a spreadsheet, to include lab work from BEFORE surgery. In this way, you can notice any trends that may be developing, and be able to adjust vitamins/supplements/diet before something may become a problem. If you have this information on one sheet, you can also take it to your doctor/dietician for specific help.
hi Robin: i don't know much about much but I've seen some post ops suggest that you want your b12 around 1000 even though 800 is "normal"
so, you may want to talk to your doc about ways to up the b12 level!
i've also been told to track the labs on a spreadsheet. my doc is part time these days so i haven't done mine yet.
good luck!
