ok yesterday i had not had anything to eat well except my protein drink in the morning ............................on my way from the home inspection to the office i stopped at long john silvers and got a piece a fish .........i got to the office and i pulled off all the breading of my one little small piece of fish and started to eat it with some vineagar on it and one of the girls i work with had the nerve to say to another girl i work with SHE SHOULD NOT BE EATING THAT...........that girl left and the girl she said it to told me after she left....i was like i am so glad that people have become professionals in what i should eat.............she goes well she thinks you should be eating salad............i just giggled and shook my head.......and thought to myself, you stupid........ (ONLY FOR A MINUTE) then i thought you know what who cares what they think let them keep thinking whatever they want........... sometimes it just amazes me how people voice their opinions and KNOW nothing about this surgery.I mean you go from eating everything to eating not hardly enough starving yourself to trying to eat more and still get the looks, stares, and opinions....LOL they watch everything you do when it comes to food..........oh well thought i would share

Crystal -- you make me laugh! I've had the same thing happen and it makes me crazy! I was at a breakfast meeting last week and took a bite of a yogurt parfait (made with yogurt, fruit and granola). Someone across the table said "STOP! There might be sugar in that yogurt!" She was loud enough that people at the next table heard. Needless to say, I dropped the spoon. I'm sure she meant well, but come on! I looked at her and said "I had my insides rearranged. I'm not going to eat anything I shouldn't. Thanks anyway." I wanted her to tell her to mind her own damn business. Geez. I think you should get hush puppies and fries the next time too -- let them sit there with your fish and give her something to worry about! Alex

Hush puppies and fries - ROTFLMAO!!! Wouldn't that be hilarious! If you could only make something WLS-friendly look like hush puppies/fries so you could actually eat them, munch munch munch, licking your lips, and moaning in ecstasy (think When Harry Met Sally), wouldn't that be a riot????

see, I think you and I have similar work problems, we've shared so much people feel too darned comfortable! One elderly lady that works with me (I am her boss), stares if I am eating and was shocked that I still watch calories. I told her it is still all about what you burn vs. what you eat. "Oh, I thought the surgery took care of all of that." ugh. No Food Nazis allowed!!! judi

Food Nazis -- we need a graphic for that so we can post it at our desks! These anecdotes about how others treat WLS patients makes me soooo glad I have not shared my story with anyone other than my sister.

I took my sister-in-law with me to my preop/first support group and then to my first consultation with my nutrisionist.. now she is my Nut. We only hang out at food functions and the first thing I hear is " You can't eat that". Well how does she know it's not her pouch! But she is just as proud of me as everyone else is. My group at TOPS go out to eat after and are always trying to be considerate of me.. but I finally had to tell them that I am sick and tired of refried beans and cheese. I think people are just trying to be supportive of us.. and don't understand the whole process... But then do we? Alice

OMG.... I totally feel you on that one guys.... we have to put up with such crap from others since having the surgery.... but you know what, half the time it is jealousy! Other times I know it is true curiosity and concern, but didn't these people's mommas tell them it wasn't nice to stare at people when they eat? LOL.... anyhow, here are a funny graphic maybe we can use against these food nazi's, (funny little pillsbury dough boy nazi) click the link.... LMAO!!!! Love you guys!!!~Crystal http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w257/MARIBEL808/th688124258_l.gif
