Just can't eat when I wake up

Anyone else have this problem ? It just makes me feel sick to even think about food. I'm down 75 lbs. My husband had the surgery 2 weeks before me and is down 125 lbs. He looks so different and I still feel like I look the same. I have had more "bumps" in the road then he has but still it's not fair ! Laura

I can't eat that early either. I was never a breakfast eater, even before surgery, so that's why I do a protein shake ever morning.

I'm not a morning eater either. But I do start each day with a protein shake. Then about 10:00 a yogurt. Then by lunch, I'm ready for something more. 30 years of not eating in the morning is a hard habit to break. I might have to get out of bed much earlier! And I bet you do look different, it's just really hard for us to see the difference in ourselves. Have you taken photos? I find looking at those confirms that I am changing, even if I can't see it. Keep working at it...

Breakfast is a protein shake for me too. The nutritionist is OK with that approach.

Breakfast was always my favorite meal of the day hehe However, my new pouch doesn't really like food first thing in the morning, so I sit and sip a large mug of herbal tea in the morning before I start worrying about breakfast. The bad thing, sometimes the tea satisfies me to the point that I realize a couple of hours have gone by, it's 10:30am and I still haven't eaten anything! Then I scramble to get all my protein and calories for the day in without overstuffing myself. I started to set a timer to remind myself to eat and it helps lol. As for your husband making better progress....try to remember that men almost ALWAYS lose weight easier and faster than women do. They have more muscle mass (in general) and so their metabolisms run faster and hotter than ours do. Ask your nut or doctor, they'll tell ya And believe me, you might feel the same, but 75 pounds lost and you sure aren't lookin the same! I thought the same thing until I saw my side by side pictures! Keep your chin up and keep doing what you're doing, you'll get there! (hugs) Donna

Ive been using a timer as well. Working I find I get busy anf forget to either eat or drink. So I have a protien drink when I wake up with my vitamins. Then set a timer to remind mme to eat breakfast, then set it again to remind me to drink. The drink often gets forgotten, the next thing I know its lunch time and I havent eaten breakfast yet, so the timer is working great, drinking lots more now. Becky
