I KNOW i gotta keep the energy going to keep up with all of you!!!
I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!
Crystal (((BIG HUGS))) Don't make me come out to NY and stand over you to make you eat! LOL j/k, well sorta. Start trying the recipes I post on Mondays (and sometimes Tuesdays lol) I got a good one for this Monday that will be really good for you.
To stop puking, try this: Cut your food into small pieces as if you're feeding a baby it's first finger food. You remember doing that don't you? Put your fork down between eat bite if it helps (which it does for me) and make sure you don't hold the plate or bowl in your hand. I used to eat my food with the fork in one hand and the plate in the other so I wouldn't drop food on my chest (I have that bib/shelf thing going on with my boobs), but when I ate like that, I noticed I ate WAY faster. That was the reason behind my puke-fests during the first and second month post op. I haven't puked at all since I started doing what I'm suggesting you try here. Chew everything real good, until it's mushy before you swallow. That was also a factor in my puking. My doc says not to read or watch tv while eating, but I noticed if I read, I eat slower. If I sit and do nothing, I get bored and want to eat faster just to get done. I think Cleo mentioned a while ago she had a similar problem lol.
Alrighty, those are my suggestions for now and if I think of more, I'll shout at ya. In the mean time, take care of our Crystal cuz we need her around here! Love ya lots!
Donna
DONNA (((((((((((((BIG HUGS BACK TO YOU))))))))) you always make me feel good!!! thanks for all the support and suggestions......i usually get on here when i eat so i do put down my fork and type and chew and it seems to be working better.
if you think of anything else let me know please....
i love ya girl!!!
Crystal,
Glad your blood work was all great!! Everyone above had some great suggestions!! One thing I still do is measure everything I eat. I make sure that I get my 3oz of protein etc. It may take me 30min to an hour to eat it, but I just keep trying!!
I have also heard people using baby plates (the ones with the ho****er on the bottom to keep food warm) and also using baby spoons to remember to eat slowly and small bites.
Glad things are getting better... once you start getting into a routine of eating slower I think no matter how distracted you get you will continue that habit. Remember, at this point, it is all about forming good habits that will stick with us and keep us healthy and thin for years to come.
Take care.... and eat (slowly!!)
Sherri
Glad your bloodwork is ok.
A couple things that have helped me is Special K protien water now comes in a dry form, so I can keep a couple tubes in my purse. It is only 5 grams of protien, but its also water. I love the pink lemonade. The other is Stacker2 protien water, which has 20 g protien. You seem to be busy, and this may aide in getting protien in. The Special K is nice because you can stop anywhere and get a 16-20 oz bottle of water.
We know you can do this and be back to your normal perky self.
