Recently out of the hospital.... prayers needed.
Hello everyone!! I hope everything is going wonderful with all of you LOSERS!!! I am finally UNDER 200!!! But I have had some serious health issues recently....This past weekend was my first OUT of the hospital out of the past 3 weeks.... Aparantly I have a rare endocrine disorder called Addison's disease and it was causing my blood pressure and pulse to drop so drastically that I was passing out quite often. The disease was underlying for probably at least a year or so but the surgery caused stress on my body to where my adrenal glands stopped working (known as an Addisonian Crisis) and it could have been fatal. I saw a cardiologist and an endocrinologist this last time I was in the hospital who figured out that I had those severe decreases in blood pressure due to Addison's. I am now on the medicine that the disease requires and will be on it for the rest of my life pretty much, it's just pills to replace the cortisol in my system since my adrenal glands do not produce it anymore. Hopefully now that we know I have this problem I won't have anymore fainting spells or problems with my blood pressure, keep me in your prayers that this medicine works! Any time in the future if my body is under stress (illness, pregnancy, surgery, etc.) I will have to give myself injections of my medicine rather than pills so I get a stronger dose of what my body needs at those times. Anyhow.... just wanted to update you all on why I hadn't been around in a while and what I have been going through!! Missed you guys, I have A LOT of catching up to do in reading posts!!!!

Crystal! Welcome back, I am so sorry to hear this, and glad they figured it out. A gal from Virginia who posts on Quix also posts sometimes on the Virginia State board. I think her name here is "Tinkerbell".
She is several years post op but I know she has also had adrenal issues. If you get to a point where you are looking for info with someone who has had WLS and adrenal issues, you could try the Virginia state board.
I know she was in a car accident a few months ago and her hubby rushed to the scene to give her her shot because the EMT's aren't allowed to administer medicine if they haven't provided it. Not trying to scare you but it was a scary situation.
So, make sure someone else knows how to give you your injections.
Many prayers your way for some calm peaceful healing.
(p.s. congrats on the weight loss)
I honestly don't mean to be butting in or offend. I just know from her posts that this is a big but manageable deal.
all the best, judi
