Can you eat the bread on a subway sandwich? I'm afraid to try any bread - I'm sticking to crackers cause I'm afraid the bread will form a glob and stuff me up uncomfortably. While on vacation I went to subway and had their kids sized turkey w/o the roll but with all the veggies and it was delicious!

At first I wasn't sure I should, Cleo. In the end, I said "screw it!" and ate it anyway since I had to eat in my car and with a 30 minute time limit to get food, eat it and get back to my desk! I took normal size bites but I chewed it until it was pretty much liquid. I'm sure that is the only reason it didn't glob up on me. I've eaten whole wheat toast which went down fine and I rationalized that if I chewed that until liquid and it was fine, then the untoasted bread once chewed to liquid would also be fine. And if I got sick, I get a free "go home because I'm sick" card It went down fine, I ate about 3/4 of the 6 inch sandwich that had a little bit of shredded cheese, lettuce, tomato and black olives. No other dressing besides the mayo that is put into the tuna already. Usually at Subway, they will make any sandwich on their menu into a salad for an extra dollar. It is huge and lasts me 3 meals lol. I would have had no place to store the leftovers and I can't yet bring myself to throw away 2/3's of a lunch I just paid for! Hell I would have gone home for lunch if there had been time! Donna

Good to know, Donna. I don't wanna experiment while eating out and I don't keep bread at home. Maybe I'll buy a sandwich and take it home to try.
