Closet pared down

Yesterday was the day for me. I started looking at all of the clothes in my closet. I admit, I was a size jumper, so in my closet are several sizes. When I had my surgery I was a tight 26, but have everything down to an 18 in my closet. So I pulled out the things I knew were too big, then started trying on the rest. I was shocked and amazed to get into a size 20 outfit in my closet! I almost can't wait for the work week because I have something to wear that I haven't been able to wear in some time. Everyone will think I've got new clothes! I've been looking a stores, but because I'm still in the 'big girl' size, I swear everything looks like it is made in the shape of a sack. Nothing flattering or tailored. I would really like to find something in my new size that shows I have regained my waist line! To any of you that still have the closet to go thru, do it now. I actually missed wearing several things because I thought I still wasn't that size, but have gone passed it!

Congratulations on your new wardrobe, just because you didn't just go out and buy it doesn't mean it's not new! I did my closet and drawers a couple of weeks ago too so I know what you mean. There's nothing like seeing what fits and what doesn't to boost morale and make you feel good Donna

Thanks, it felt good, but weird. I kept having to get my head around the normal "I might need these in the future" concept. I had to keep telling myself I will NEVER be this size again! Wow!

I'm now down to 2 pair of Dockers, 1 skirt and 2 dresses I can wear to work. I have no dress slacks at all! Need to make a run to some consignment shops - refuse to pay $$$ for new clothes to wear a couple of times!

I was thinking about going to the consignment shops this afternoon. Hoping for a wide selection! Sounds like you need to hit it soon!

Judi - those fish a pretty special here. We have all kinds of them decorated, each one with a different name. I remember this year seeing a Rap fish with low hung jeans and underwear showing, and a microphone in his fin. Too funny! At the end of the season, the fish are auctioned off for charity.
