Ok I know we all lose at different rates and I should not compare myself to others but I will be 11 weeks out tomorrow and I have only lost 41 pounds. I seem to have to struggle for every pound. I am getting in at the least 60 grams of protein, between 600-800 calories, at least 64oz of water and I am exercising 5x per week. What gives. Ok I am done whining now.

look at Shean's post from yesterday. We did our whining there (you are just a day tougher before caving in to the whine!) There was some good advice on there. Here is my plan (I'm with you at 40 lbs - ok i rounded the last .2!): I'm going to do the 2nd protein drink per day as was suggested. I'm going to SERIOUSLY watch my carbs. My nutritionist told me she wasn't worried about them but I've been doing protein bars which have more carbs, NO MORE You are probably losing inches, and look at the chart on my profile. I think you and I are okay. We are just not fast super duper losers like some of the other folks on this board. I still love them but it is not a race, thank goodness or I would be last. Hang in There! We Can Do This! we will! judi

Thank you for the encouragement. I will check out the other post. Maybe I should watch my carbs too. I was told not to worry about them but there has to be some explaination. Suesan

My loss at about 11 weeks is close to yours, but I'm absolutely thrilled! Not that I want to stay where I am nor do I really like the way I look yet, but at least I know it's happening! The last couple of weeks I stopped my 55-g protein drink and was getting all protein in by food. I'm going back to 1/2 the protein drink to better control fat and carbs although the nutritionist had no trouble with what I was doing. I just want to mix it up. Only getting 60 g of protein may cause you to lose lean body mass. Without WLS people need about 60 g. You may want to kick that up a bit. You're doing great and remember the goal not the race to get there!

I think you are right on target... I have lost 81 lbs total since the begining of June. On June 8 I started my pre op liquid diet, and had my surgery June 18. I lost 35 lbs on the pre op liquid diet. So that means Ive lost 46 since surgery. SO yes even though we all loose at different rates, we are similar with our results. And frankly 41 lbs is nothing to sneeze at. You go girl!! Becky

You are doing great Suesan! I'm at 11 weeks out too and I'm down 43 pounds since surgery. I honestly don't think thats too slow, you're right up there with a few of us at least. Alot of us are counting the weight we lost pre-op too, because....hey, it was weight we lost! And the old way too! I've lost a total of 74 pounds since my initial consultation in April, even though my surgery wasn't until June. But I still count it Just hang in there, it will get better! Donna
