I Make REALLY goofy faces so that I strain my neck, chin and cheek muscles..umm does that even count>? I am nervous about my chubby cheeks not shrinking ..lol Thats it for me until I get a membership to the gym. Blessings ya'll, Valarie

I just today started taking advantage of one of the benefits of being the spouse of active duty military. I went to a gym on post and enlisted the aid of a personal trainer...who looks suspiciously like Billy Blanks. He whipped my butt good today on the circuit machines. Before that though, I've been walking at least a mile a day, usually a little more. I just make sure the walk lasts 45 mins to an hour and has a little uphill in there somewhere. Sometimes I go in the morning with my dog, and sometimes at night with both husband and dog. Thats what I've been up to! Donna

Hey, we're doing good, huh! Remember to keep up with strength (weight) training to avoid having your weight loss be from your lean body mass! Have any of your local media covered the subject of "TOFI" - thin outside/fat inside - people who are of normal weight with fat-covered organs? Weight bearing exercise fights that condition. Keep it up Junesters!!

I'm late but I'll reply. I've been biking. I'm up to 10 miles at a time, 4-5 times per week. I know it is getting my heart rate up and my legs are definitely getting stronger! After labor day I'm going to join the gym. Great idea on hiring a personal trainer! What a bonus that he looks like Billy Blank. way to go everyone! judi

I want to bike ans swim so bad....I don't have a bike yet and I can't afford they YMCA to swim...And with the stricture I haven't had ANY energy at all. I WANT THE ENERGY EVERYONES TALKING ABOUT! Ok nervous breakdown over lol. For real though, I am getting so frustrated with not being able to work out, when I try I get exhausted and dizzy and light headed it sucks. I just keep praying and trusting it'll pass, but I'd be lieing if I said I haven't been depressed lately. Just feel crappy all the time. Glad to hear you're all getting in your walking etc. Keep it up!!

Robin - How terrible! Hope you're getting the stricture resolved and still trying to get in your water, protein and vitamins. Keep working with your doctor - I'm sure you'll eventually get everything resolved and energy will develop. You might try to get some hand weights (or use canned goods!) and do some arm exercises while sitting down. It's not what you WANT to do, but it might help in developing some energy for you. Warm hugs to keep you going! Let us know how you're getting along. Cleo

Sorry I haven't posted until now.... I generally walk 1 mile at lunch time at work. Then in the evenings I walk 3-4 miles, I usually throw in 2 steep hills, but sometimes it's one. If I decide to walk the steps down to the bottom of the waterfall and back up, that's all my legs can take, so no steep hills then. If I can't make it outside in the evenings I go downstairs and bike about 5 miles. I really need to work on my 'lunch lady' arms as well....and tummy....need to by some hand weights. My son has a barbell, but I may hurt myself with that. LOL Cleo....great idea to post this. Perhaps this could be a, 'Monday Weigh in', 'What did you eat' regular weekly or daily post. Will help to keep us all accountable. Ummmm speaking of which, the last couple of days, I've only gotten part of my afternoon walk in at work.....just been exhausted. ....Crystal....your ground isn't covered in diamonds? Mine is....that's weird. LOL
