Scars?
My scars aren't really that bad....... not like some others I've seen or heard about any way. I had LAP RNY and have 5 small incision scars. The longest one is maybe an inch and a little more red than the others. I'm not really doing anything, I have other scars from other surgeries that I have trouble finding... they eventually fade on their own. I do lay out in the pool.... in my bikini (ummmm if the pool wasn't in the backyard with the privacy fence... I wouldn't own a bikini) and the sun helps some too.

HEY JOE, I HAD the open rny and my scar is about 3 inches long with two tiny little ones on each side (where they had my drains) mine are not to bad a little red but i put cocoa butter on them and it seems to help them.....
unfortunately i can't go to much in the sun......fair skinned and highly allergic to it...i break out in hives.....ugggghhh
i too have scars from having 3 c-section babies and that scar you can hardly tell it is even there
My RNY was open, and I was cut from breast bone to belly button. My husband affectionately calls me "Frankenbelly" now. I'm going to have a tummy tuck at 1 year out, so....no point in doing anything about the scarring now. I've heard things like cocoa butter and vitamin E oil may help, but nothing will completely get rid of scars. Good luck!
