Diagnosis?
Ok so here's the pickle and no not everything is kosher dill.
So last week I started to have these feelings like someone was sitting on my chest (mind you I do not have ashma or anything) I thought it was an anxiety attack coming so I took some meds. Well that lasted for 3 days and I went to my PCP where they did an EKG, Chest X-Rays, and drew blood. They said that they were going to compare the X Ray with the one's from my pre op appointment. They said that my diaphram is enlarged on one side from what they could see. They gave me this peak flow meter to test how much air I can get out of my lungs and sent me home.
Then on Thursday night I got violently ill and ralphed my brains out. (I really think my eyes popped out of my head) I broke a ton of capalaries on my face, causing me to look like I was beaten with a socket wrench.
On Sunday I started to feel these sharp pains in my right side about 5 in from my belly button and my stomach was SUPER tender to touch. Monday I had a SF candy and dumped harder than ever. The pain continued and I went back to the PCP where they did some more X-Ray's and blood work. They said everything looked ok but that they were forwarding it to a different Dr. They told me to call my WLS Dr as an FYI. I talked to the nurse and she said she would talk to the DR and call me back. She said that I need to come in ASAP and I am going in tomorrow morning. Then I got so sick at work tonight my manager TOLD me to go home.
What in the HE*L could this be? A stricture? A Ulcer? My Appendix? Gurrr I NEED answers. I am so sick of being SICK!!! Has anyone here had this or heard of it?
Thanks for listening!!!
dang Ruth, I have never heard of symptoms like this before.
They must not be too panicked or they'd have made you go in tonight.
I don't think it is a stricture, cause you can drink water.
An appendix attack would've shown up at the ER.
gallbladder? I don't know.
poor you. ((Ruth))
let us know as soon as you can, I hope it is easily fixable. No more broken capillaries! and No more Pain! take care, judi
Oh Ruth, I'm so sorry you are going through this. I hope you start feeling better soon. I am sending up prayers that they will find the problem and be able to fix it easily. It almost sounds like you have something stuck as if I start to eat something a little too quickly that chest pain and back pain is how I feel, but I wouldn't think that would last so long. You'd think you would have gotten it back up by now or it would have gone down.
Please let us know as soon as you can what the surgeon says. I will be thinking of you all day.
Pam
Oh wow, Ruth, that sound awful. I really hope the docs can fix you up in a hurry! What you described sounds a little like what a friend of mine from the RNY boards described when she was first diagnosed with an ulcer. Appendicitis usually comes with a fever, have you taken your temp? But hey, we're not doctors so don't put much stock in any of this ok? I'm just going on mommy instincts now! Take care and please let us know when you know, if you can. (hugs)
