I am addicted to V8 juice!!!! How can I work it into my meal plan [alot of it] without overdoing it? It doesnt make me dump, so its one of my 'indulgences'. Do you think I could mix unflavored protein powder into it and use it in place of a shake? How many times a day could I partake in it?????

Yes, you can put unflavored protien in it and use it for a shake. I did this with OJ and Nectar Fuzzy Navel. I use 2 protien shakes/bullets a day. My main craving after surgery was Orange Juice and Milk. Never been much of a milk drinker, but I could have lived on the two of them. It is gone now

V8 juice wa on my dr's recommended liquids post-op! It has some protein already so that's a plus. I used the low sodium type, As long as you get your liquids and protein in and stick to your calorie range, you should be good to go! Adding unflavored protein sounds like a great idea.

My NUT suggested it on days I am low on veggies. I looked at a can yesterday and the calories didn't look horrible. let us know how the protein does with it

I thought for sure it was going to be bad for me and you all would say dont drink it. I know it has alot of salt in it. I am going to buy some unjury protein and see how it tastes in it. If not maybe I could cut it down to maybe 2-3 cans a week...

It is funny what we get for cravings. I absolutely crave tomato juice. Also had a craving about a week ago for sauerkraut - I tried it and it did not sit well. There is another lady I heard of who was drinking the juice from pickle jars. I've given up on the sauerkraut for now, but I am still enjoying the tomato juice. Shirley

Funny story about pickle juice...not really. About 2 wks after surgery, I craved pickles so badly but wasnt on solid foods yet. So, I figured, I can have the juice, ya know, just a little bit to quench the craving. OMG - Did that STING AND BURN when it hit my newly-operated-on stomach!!! From that point I vowed to only go by the list that the surgeon gave me. It was like I drank battery acid!!!
