Lap-Band and weight
Ok guys! I had my lap band done in june and all I have lost is 18 pounds very disappointed. I've had one fill and is planning for another soon. I admit I have had some things I shouldn't but not enough to keep me from losing weight,( AND IT'S NOT EVERY DAY). I have started back excerising again I walk 2 miles and jog some I also do sit-ups I do this 5 days a week. Has any body else had this experience.
sofie: i'm no expert but i think 18 pounds is terrific with lap band. remember bandsters lose slower initially than rny but at the 5 year mark, everyone is about the same. plus, doesn't it take awhile to get the fills to the best spot?
hang in there, i think you are doing awesome! (when have you ever lost this much this fast?)

You are doing just fine.... Lap-Band weight loss can be slow.... and really a lot of bandsters don't really start losing much until 6+ weeks post-op before that is really the healing stage.... so your doing fine... keep up your exercise, measure your food, and drink drink drink your water!! Make sure your eating your breakfast... it helps to boost your metabolism.
Good luck.... and keep us posted!
Hey Sofie,
You're doing fine, seriously. I lost a big chunk in the first two weeks, then slowed down to your pace. This weight moves like a snail, but my doctor assures me I'm moving at the perfect rate, so I'm sure you are as well.
Did you do a liquid diet before the surgery? If so, that may be why you didn't have that huge chunk the first two weeks like I did. I didn't have to do a liquid diet before surgery, so my body said, "Hey! Where'd the food go?" after surgery, when all it got was liquid for a week.
Be encouraged, sweetie. You're 18 pounds lighter, and livin' on the lighter side. Start looking at how your clothes are fitting, and how you are feeling physically. The improvements are subtle, but they should start showing up now. Keep up the good work. I am jealous of your workout discipline. Maybe you can shake some of that fairy dust my way, and help me get a little more movement motivated.
Take care!
Cindy
Hey Sofie....You are doing a GREAT job! Keep up the great work....it will come and please don't compare yourself to anyone else. I found myself doing that more than once and quickly realized that I will lose it. I've been doing the 1 to 2 lbs loss / week and I had RNY. Thinking Monday Weigh in will be more this week....I've peeked. LOL You'll get there darlin....just follow the rules and you'll lose it!
